Dates Set for 2019 Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic, November 8 and 9.

Hopefully this means that dates for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will be released shortly!!!

Hopefully! Interesting, because seems the Disney Wine & Dine and this event have switched dates. Wine & Dine is around Halloween this year whereas the Swan event is usually that weekend. Having the Swan event Veteran’s Day weekend will be interesting. I think I will be planning a long weekend!

So excited for this!! We attended last year for the first time. It happened to fall during our stay. We loved it and had a great time. Since we book so early with DVC, was really hoping we would catch this beginning or end of our trip this November. We lucked out, it will be at the end our trip but we can definitely go!!!!

WDW has announced that the Wonders of Life pavilion will be transformed into a "play pavilion" over the next several years.

It will interesting to see what happens with the culinary demos, beverage seminars, and other special events that have been held in the Wonders of Life pavilion over the last many years!

Hey Disney, how about some info on the dates for the 2019 Food and Wine Festival!!!

No 2019 dates yet but Disney Food Blog posted that 4 “traditional” events have been updated with a 2019 designation on the wdw site. No official confirmation but maybe a clue? Or could be a glitch... who knows!
  • Mediterranean F&W pairing
  • French Family Meal
  • Italian Regional F&W Pairing Luncheon
  • Parisian Breakfast

Thanks for posting this info :thumbsup2

Maybe they'll actually get the info out on the special events long before the festival begins this year. I certainly hope we don't have the same confusion as last year when the details were not available on the date the special events could be reserved.

Hope springs eternal?

Per the Disney Food Blog, three more events updated with 2019 designations on the WDW site:
  • Mexican tequila lunch (did this last year... SO good!)
  • Culinary tour of Japan
  • Hibachi experience

I suspect they are trying to work out logistics with SWGE opening
I hadn't thought of that. For the last two years, the festival has opened around Labor Day weekend which is the same time that SWGE is scheduled to open. Also, I'm guessing they're having to decide where to move some of the events as the Wonder of Life pavilion has closed down to make way for a new exhibit.

I hope they come up with dates soon! I have a resort stay scheduled at BC begining on Thursday August 29 for 4 nights to take early advantage of F & W on the opening weekend.

This is usually a lovely quiet time at the resorts but with the opening of Star Wars I'm afraid the Epcot resorts are going to be absolute mayhem

I am seriously hoping they move they opening of F & W to the middle of August and I can change my reservation to a time that doesn't coincide with SW opening. I have absolutely no interest in SW.

It definitely seems daunting. But there are still rooms available. I thought rooms would sell out within minutes of the Galaxy’s Edge announcement. Maybe the projected insanity is scaring people and/or people are waiting for both rides to be operational? Or am I just trying to convince myself my annual Oct trip will be fine?

You’re definitely trying to convince yourself your Oct trip will be fine ;) But in yourself’s defense I agree that not having the main ride open is dampening enthusiasm over the land’s opening (at least a bit).
