Disney Magic - Day 3 November 26, 2001

Today was the second day at sea. We were supposed to have a character breakfast this morning, but it was at 8:15, meaning mommy would have had to wake up at 7:15. Fat chance!

I finally did get her up at 8:15 and after a breakfast at Topsiders, we sat by the adult pool for a while. We had 11:45 reservations at Palos for brunch, so we went down to the room at 11:15 to change. The brunch was delightful. Our server was Steve, from Paris. First, he took us to the buffet and pointed everything out. There are displays of all the different entrees that can be made to order, from breakfast items such as Eggs Benedict and Pancakes to lunch items such as Chicken Cacciatore and penne pasta. All we had to do was let Steve know what we wanted. I followed Steve with my camcorder as he explained it all to us. Neither of us are drinkers, so we skipped the champaigne, for which we were not charged. Since 11:45 is toward the end of the schedule, it wasn't crowded at all.

After Palos, we went back to the room and got into our bathing suits. We spent the afternoon by the pool, a good time of it with our table mates, Frank and Pat.
The boat has been very rocky, as I've mentioned previously and the adult pool was turned into a miniature wave pool. It was fun just trying to stay in one place. You just relax and let the water carry you.

After swimming we showered and went to a reception for returning cruisers. It was amazing to learn that 400 of the 2100 people on board were returning cruisers. Again, free drinks, but we skipped the hours d'ouevres.

Dinner was at Parrot Cay. Sid came through for us tonight, finding us an oval table.
The show tonight was something we hadn't seen before. It used to be called C'est Magique, but now it called Morty the Magnificent. It wasn't what I expected and it turned out to be my least favorite show. It was a magical variety show. The tricks were rather tame and obvious. During the course of the show, we realized we were sitting next to two of the performers from Hercules. These were two of the muses. It was so obvious as they enthusiastically cheered the show. They had a night off. It's funny how much younger they looked in person. Of course, everytime Judy meets someone who is in a performing arts capacity, she keeps telling them about her daughter who wants to be in theater. Maybe she thinks they'll offer you a job sight unseen :)

We had been told earlier that between 7:00 and 10:00pm, we would be passing close by Puerto Rico. I walked out on deck and tried using my cell phone, to call the girls, but I was unable to get a signal. Next, we went to Rockin' Bar D and caught the juggling act called the Hill Brothers. The Hill Brothers were two brothers doing a juggling and comedy act that was very funny. They had one guy out of the audience thinking they were going to juggle axes over him. They laid him down on the floor and gave him a blindfold. They then switched the axes for bowling pins and when they were finished juggling, they let one drop on him! One thing I've noticed so far, is that the adult entertainment hasn't been "Disneyized" as much in the past, which is fine. Adult entertainment does not have to be risqué to be funny. Yet, I appreciate the fact that the performers don't have to clean up their act just because they are on a Disney ship.
