I have signed up to walk the 1/2 marathon with two friends and my 18-year-old daughter. We are all overweight and out of shape. We started the 1/2 marathon training program from Weight Watchers Magazine in January, and we're all making progress. Now, when I say we are overweight, I mean 100 pounds plus. We are far more concerned about the time than the distance of the 1/2. Right now, we are all at a comfortable 20 minute mile for 3-4 miles. We still have 8 full months to go, and with persistent training and weight loss, I'm optimistic!
Three of us are from the West Coast and one from Iowa, and this will be the first trip to WDW for any of us. So, this is really a BIG adventure for all of us!
I've been reading posts about the WISH Team and would love more info about that. Also, anybody here who is in a similar situation....quite overweight but working toward completing the 1/2 marathon....I'd love to "talk" with you. If you know if any threads that might answer a lot of our general questions, I'd appreciate those links.
(PS: I'm doing WW flex, walking outside and on a treadmill for exercise/training.)
