Day Tripping to Universal from Disney World

We did a day trip to Universal from WDW earlier this month. Granted, we had been before and were mainly interested in Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Express, which had opened since our previous visit. We took an Uber over in the morning, got the Early Admission with our tickets because our TA...

    International gateway?

It's open. We went through it a couple of weeks ago.

Has anyone here used TicketsAtWork for tickets???

I have, a handful of times. The thing you have to add into the cost is the processing fees. If I remember correctly, you can get your tickets into your shopping cart and, before you pay, you can see what the actual total cost will be. There have been times when it was the least expensive...

    Has Pizza Press Gone Downhill?

We stopped in twice in early January and enjoyed great pies and great service both times.

Packing now...how cold is 49 there?

I throw in my 2 cents as a NJ native living in CO for the past 20+ years. DW & DS22 are CO natives. We three were at DLR in early January and, looking back at the "official" temps for our visit, we were in the mid to upper 60s during the day and 48-50 low temps overnight so I can't really say...

    Fun DL trivia question

Indy definitely has drinking fountains on the way in so I guess it's just how you define "entry queue." I want to say that they're in the alcove on the right at about 2:40 into this video, but you can't see them as the Guests are passing: Here's a photo, though...

    Early Morning ...or not...

We always take advantage and typically ride Space Mountain over and over until that hour is up. That makes it worthwhile for us.

I've got maps (+ a Pirates issue and some park pics + Sheila E.!)

I may have to "borrow" this photo as those are my initials at #4...and I wasn't anywhere near Disneyland!

    Pressed pennies?

We have also used the tubes from the Airborne effervescent tablets.

    Just needing reassurance re: DI&S

We've stayed there the past two Januarys and are staying again in January 2019. Prior to that, we'd stayed at the Del Sol. The only issue we've had in our two stays was the water pressure in the shower. Staff was super friendly, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable.

    Hands hitting ceilings on Coasters?

I don't know about BTMRR but that has been a story on Matterhorn for years. Don't know for sure if it has ever been confirmed or if it's just an urban legend.

Just booked our flight for January 2019 :)

One other thing to note is that the parks won't be open as late, either. After the long, late hours during the holidays, I think we've had 9pm closing times our past three January visits. Of course this is during the week so weekends will have later closings. We've had sun and rain and...

You may also be able to ask for them at a ticket booth, if there's one without a line.

Please Share your Ride Evacuation Stories!

I've been evacuated from Monster's Inc. and Buzz Lightyear. On Monsters, when the ride stopped and the lights came up, we immediately started taking photos. It was a few minutes later before there was an announcement saying that taking photos was not allowed. Oops! We were walked off of that...

    Non park day Activites?

We always take a walk down to Joe's Italian Ice: http://joesice.com/ We've also walked over to the In-n-Out Burger on Ball Road and State College Blvd.

    Late flight no shuttles

According to their website, the John Wayne Airport Shuttle Association runs shuttles until 11pm. We started using them when we had a flight in after 10pm and they were the only shuttle we could find that was still running. http://www.snashuttle.com/index.html

Fun question for newbies from WDW

We walked from our hotel on Harbor Blvd. to the one on State College on our arrival/non-park day. It was probably less walking than we do on a typical park day. Of course, from the GC it'd be a bit longer...

First week of Paradise Pier and Main Street Closures

Nope. We arrived on the 8th and our first day in the parks was the 9th and no walls. Morning of the 10th, the hub in front of the castle was walled off. Morning of the 11th, the town square was walled off. Glad we missed the walls running down Main Street...and that we took photos at the hub...
