    Grand FLoridian or Beach CLub

Would you consider renting DVC points? If so I'd do a 2BR at GF or BLT. You can walk to MK from BLT. That convenience is priceless at the end of a long day, especially after the fireworks - no waiting for transportation. Monorail is a short walk away too to get to EP. WL is also great. You...

Anyone have a backyard zero entry pool?

We don't have a zero entry, but we do have a tanning ledge. Similar to this: https://imaginepools.com/pool-range/the-pearl-tanning-ledge/

    My Neighbor got chickens

Neighbors down the street have chickens. The biggest issue we have is they free roam near and in the street. We have to be careful as we approach their property because there's always a chicken that decides to cross the street as we approach. They have a peacock too who likes to walk down the...

Where's the weirdest place you have nodded off?

Back before cellphones I feel asleep coming home from work on the train. DH was waiting to pick me up at my stop. I never got off. He figured I fell asleep and went to the last stop on the line to get me. I was woken up when we got to the end of the line and got off. He was there waiting for me!

    Disney World Hot Takes

WDW is more fun without kids. Yep, I said it. We've been visiting for 20 years with our kids. We have done one trip without them. It was wonderful! Not to diss them, but it's just easier to do what we want than to take their wants/needs into consideration. I guess that's true of traveling with...

from 0% to 100% how ideal is your current home?

I love our house, but I'd say it's 75% ideal. It's an old stone farmhouse built in 1854. The kitchen is very small. The rooms are broken up. It's long (wide) and mostly one room deep. It's really too big for us. We don't use all of the rooms (they are all furnished). It does have a great...

    Ohana vs Hoop-de-doo

HDD - no contest. It's been around since the 1970s. That's what a hoot it is!

Some suggestions for chilling at WDW please (-:

Archery or a trail ride at Ft. Wilderness is something different to do. Touring resorts, walking around DS, enjoying some resort activities, a tour (we did the Caring for Giants and loved it)...lots of other things to do besides attractions.

What is something that has changed in your lifetime that you personally refuse to change?

I'm really not into social media. I don't want to spend time telling others what's going on in my life. If they are my friends/family, they already know. I don't understand how people have hundreds/thousands of "friends" on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok etc. I have a few close friends who know...

3 year old developmental concerns. Please Advise

Obviously I can't diagnose your son, but I can share my experiences with DD21. DD21 is adopted from foster care. She came to us at 2yo. When she joined our family she was not talking. She said her first words with us. She was a toe walker. Her speech was unclear, though I could understand her...

    Redoing a disappointing character interaction?

Was the character's lack of reaction consistent with the character's personality? Was the character an animal (like Pluto or even Chewbacca - might not react to clothing)? Perhaps the character sees many outfits resembling theirs and didn't react because they see it every day? I feel like the...

    Rideshare waits at MCO

We use Tiffany Towncar for transportation to/from MCO. Always there waiting and never any issues. They also do a supermarket stop if you want. We order groceries ahead of time and pick them up.

Boat from Contemporary Resort to Epcot Resorts

There's always the Uber/Lyft/Minnie Van option. What I like about this option is that you can get dropped of at Beach Club and enter EP through the International Gateway. So if you have dinner at Rose and Crown, for example, you have a short walk from the entrance to the restaurant.

    Solo Park/Resort Day

I'd probably challenge myself to visit all 4 parks. Not necessarily ride any attractions, but walk around/sightsee/soak up the atmosphere. If I had to narrow it down, I'd visit EP (my favorite park) and AK. AK isn't a must do park for me, but I would enjoy getting to explore areas we usually...

    Gender Reveal parties

I feel like "gender" reveal parties are trendy and will go away at some point, especially with the upcoming generation of mothers. This thread reminded me that I didn't have a shower for either of my children. We adopted our girls from foster care (we were their foster parents for about a year...

The Official DIS Oscars LIVE Watch Party Thread!!! TONITE!

I haven't read the whole thread, but what was up with Michelle Yeoh's tag on her dress? I saw her on the red carpet and thought maybe that was a mistake (that part of her dress had flopped over), but then I waited to see her present and the tag was still there with that piece folded over. I...

do you have something to eat first or something to drink first in the morning?

Literally can't do anything until I've had two cups of our delicious La Colombe coffee!

What are your favorite snacks in each park?

MK - cheese fries from Casey's AK - anything from Nomad Lounge (they used to have a great mac n cheese - not sure if it's still on the menu) DHS - cocktail from HBD Lounge EP - ham & cheese croissant or chocolate mousse from Les Halles

Pretzel bread still at Le Cellier?

There's nothing better than pretzel bread and cheddar cheese soup! It's my go-to at Le Cellier.
