    dinner duration

I think you can do either restaurant in under an hour if you're not wanting a long, drawn-out experience. Just tell your server at the beginning of the meal that you'd like your courses served quickly and they will gladly oblige (after all, another turn of the table is another tip in their pocket).

No late night ice cream at DCA?

Maybe I have an overly romanticized memory of the past, but I used to remember that EVERYTHING stayed open until park closing time, including queues. So you could hop in any line, as long as you were there before park closing time, and get the experience the attraction. All dining locations...

Aulani Oceanview worth the extra points??

Aulani was well-built, with much better soundproofing than most other hotels. We've had ground-floor poolside rooms a few times now, and with the sliding door shut you really can't hear much from outside at all.

Disney Channel Night - After Hours Event

How does check-in for the party work? Do you show them your party tickets at the turnstile when you first enter, or is there a special party check-in spot somewhere else? When you say the mobile order waits were over 100 minutes, does that mean the only ways to eat are to book one of the...

Aulani Oceanview worth the extra points??

That looks just like the "ocean view" we had on our very first stay to Aulani, paying cash for a 2BR. I let them know I wasn't pleased with the room categorization (this was within a year of them opening), and they admitted they had gotten lots of complaints and were looking at re-categorizing...

    Bang for your Buck

This is no help to the OP, but this thread REALLY makes me miss the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ.

Disney Channel Night - After Hours Event

My girls and I are going on the 7th; it will be our first-ever after-hours event. We go to Disneyland often so will be doing the opposite of you--we go on rides often so plan to focus our time on the exclusive things going on. We hope to meet some unique characters and try some unique food...

Favorite place for dinner in Downtown Disney?

Another vote for Naples, but if you're not in the mood for Italian then my wild card suggestion is Splitsville. Yes, the bowling alley. The food, drinks, and service there (surprisingly) would stand on their own without the bowling, and luckily you can treat it as simply a restaurant and eat...

Let's Play "The Next Poster"...Disneyland style! Part 2

True... but is there anyone on earth for whom that would be false? :D TNP has dined at 21 Royal.

    Have you had these foods?

The only one in that entire list I've had recently are the onion rings at Smokejumpers. They were... okay. A bit overfried and too crispy for me; I'll likely just stick with the no-added-cost fries as my side the next time.

Is anything special for Easter at Disneyland?

They do have special Easter-themed treats in the confectionary shops, some of which are super-cute and quite delicious.

Universal's Epic Universe - News and Discussion

For those of us who grew up on Disney movies and theme park experiences, that is true. What Disney should be VERY worried about is the generation growing up where Disney movies are no longer the must-do, everyone-sees-them events they used to be, and where Disney theme park vacations (due to...

    Afib/Cardiac ablation

My wife has had two ablations; so far, so good with the second. About two weeks after the first she had a really bad episode that resulted in us going to the ER; it turns out her heart was seriously irritated about that first ablation and decided to throw some atrial flutter in with her ongoing...

Favorites to eat in Downtown Disney?

Just have to chime in to refute this--my repeated experiences have been the complete opposite. Outstanding food (way better than any bowling alley has any business having) and super-friendly service. Earl of Sandwich, on the other hand, is barely better than your average Subway; I totally...

Is the Magic Key offer the only World of Color Dining option?

With the dessert party you're really paying for the ability to sit down and guarantee good viewing; the food and beverage items are fine, but nowhere worth the cost of the package. With the dining packages, you don't have to deal with VQ or standby, but will still be standing for the actual...

Please help me choose the Best Marriott property

I tend to prefer full-service hotels over limited-service brands. The Marriott will have higher-quality furnishings, better-trained staff, a full bar and restaurant, room service, an indoor/outdoor pool, a nicer gym, and (this may be key) a traditional concierge lounge. Assuming you're Bonvoy...

    Disneyland advice June 18-21.

Maybe do the 3-day Disney tickets which would allow you a day to visit Knott's Berry Farm. Your coaster enthusiast will appreciate it! Or, depending on where your AirBNB is located, you could do that instead of Universal Studios.

Please help me choose the Best Marriott property

What about the Anaheim Marriott--is it under your point threshold for your dates? It is a full-service hotel within walking distance of the parks, and is a step above all the others you listed in terms of both hard and soft product. Also, the Tribute Portfolio is not the best "brand name" in...
