Let's speculate about Polynesian some more!

How many deaths have there been on the "death buckets" so far?

Let's speculate about Polynesian some more!

I do think Walt would have liked the Epcot with Horizons, World of Motion and Universe of Energy better than the one with Guardians of the Galaxy, Frozen Ever After, and Nemo and Friends. Hey, what are everyone’s thoughts on retheming Spaceship Earth to The Incredibles?

    DAS changes coming WDW

I'm thinking it will go like: "I'd like to add 3 people to my party". "OK no problem, we see you were a party of 1 before with DAS, but now you're a party of 4 we'll change that to rider switch".

Also because while the idea of giving "a bit extra" sounds nice, as soon as you give "a bit extra" it very quickly becomes a "TikTok hack" and encourages more people to abuse it. Which is why Disney seems to have come to the conclusion that the way to go is to offer accommodations that are...

A question for any Owner Locker Owners

We have the unlimited plan with two lockers as we go quite regularly. And we are big coffee drinkers so we leave a big tub of Folgers in there and even after many months I have never noticed a problem with the taste (not that I have the most discerning of palates). TBH it probably does not make...

ooops, I didn't mean to send that to you

A word of warning.... if you receive a text from a stranger out of the blue and reply that it is a wrong number, don't let the person draw you into a conversation about this being a "beautiful misunderstanding" and "you seem like a kind person", "maybe we can be friends", etc., because it's a...

    DAS changes coming WDW

I would be very surprised if ADHD is addressed the same way under the new system. For one thing, plenty of pushy parents badger doctors into writing ADHD diagnoses for their kids so they are allowed more time to do tests like SATs, and this should not automatically lead to DAS being granted. And...

    DAS changes coming WDW

One motivation for bringing in the third party is probably because so many CMs have DAS, and one reason for this when it’s a CM as opposed to a third party making the decision may be that it’s harder for a CM to say “no” to a fellow CM; it’s natural to want your fellow employees to like you...

    DAS changes coming WDW

The single change most likely to curb abuse is to put an end to (for example) parties of 6 getting to go through the LL all together based upon one member of the party obtaining a DAS. If they have to do a rider switch instead, where 4 members of the party have to first ride using the standby...

    DAS changes coming WDW

It wouldn't surprise me if the "scripts" by which DAS can be successfully obtained circulate like wildfire among Disney CMs, and I would expect that going forward, CMs' requests for DAS will be scrutinized especially closely. And if a CM claims to need an accommodation for DAS that they have not...

    DAS changes coming WDW

I suspect another issue is that parties including a DAS user will tend to be disproportionately large, due to the “hey, do you all want to come to Disney with us? We have DAS so you won’t have to wait in any long lines!” effect, where some people don’t want to “waste” any available slots in...

    DAS changes coming WDW

No, the CM was correct and that is the current policy. I am certain that disability rider swap will need to be pre-approved as part of the DAS interview, and it will be not like random groups approaching the CM at the ride saying "my friend has IBS, we need a rider swap".

    DAS changes coming WDW

Yes, as anyone who has spent years using child swap for children too small for a ride is aware, the process does take a bit of extra time. But the key point is that everyone gets to ride and disabilities are accommodated. Yes, everyone would like a "perfect" solution (a "perfect" solution for...

Let's speculate about Polynesian some more!

That’s why MB is such an ingenious promotion. Instead of buying at $210 (for example) and renting out the first year’s points at DVC Rental Store for $20 pp, you can rent those points back to Disney instead at the time of purchase and claim “I bought in at $190 per point!”

    DAS changes coming WDW

I don’t think it will be “limiting DAS party sizes” so much as it will be limiting the number of people in a DAS party who are allowed into the LL. For example, a “DAS party” could still be a party of 6 adults, including the DAS holder who has IBS (for example) and the accommodation could be...

    DAS changes coming WDW

Disney claims that the queues are wheelchair accessible, and most people seem to agree as you are the first poster that I have seen disputing this claim. I do have doubts that disagreeing with Disney about how wheelchair accessible the queues are will always be a path to getting a DAS.

    DAS changes coming WDW

How would you respond to a Disney CM who said “it sounds as though your needs would be addressed by renting a wheelchair, which you can get in and out of during the wait in line, so you would never have to stand still or sit for too long a period of time”?

Rented Out My Points in 2023 Tax Question

But would a guest who needed disability rider swap really need it for “every single attraction”? If that guest is able to wait in lines of less than about 20 to 30 minutes (which is the wait time in a typical lightning lane) then they should be OK with standby lines of a similar length, where...

    DAS changes coming WDW

Many of us have spent years going to the parks with a child not tall enough for many of the rides and have had to split our party (using rider swap) at those rides. And at least to me it always still felt like a “family vacation”. Of course that does not apply to all of the rides, just the ones...
