Strategy of Park Hopping with car rental, which would you select?

My $0.02: Saturday - I’m honestly fairly indifferent here. If you’re willing to drive from AKL to AK parking an hour before rope drop, you’ll probably get a close spot, and it could be quicker to hop in your car at park hopping time and drive to TTC than waiting for a potentially crowded park...

    Remember when Skyliner was announced....

It’s always changing, but as things stand part of Brightline going west from MCO to OCCC and Tampa is that there will be a transfer platform from the north/south SunRail line. SunRail riders will be able to transfer to MCO, or OCCC/I-Drive. People who fly into MCO will be able to take a train to...

    Epcot parking?

Parking is on the north side of Epcot, with the main entrance near Spaceship Earth (the Epcot ball). Road access to parking is direct from northbound World Dr (eg if you’re coming from US-192), or from Epcot Center Blvd (from I-4).

    Some logistics before my trip!!

While I agree that bus and then bus is likely the fastest way, I would not recommend AKL as the chosen destination for transfer. AKL buses stop at Kidani and then Jambo, so you’re adding a loop around the AKL property that you don’t need to, and an extra red light intersection coming and going...

    For those folks driving!

There’s a few toll options possible (including none - there are toll free routes), and there’s a calculator here: https://www.cfxway.com/for-travelers/tolls/toll-rates/ Coming from Jacksonville/Daytona/Deltona there’s a Western Beltway (SR-429) and a “Greenway” (SR-417) that split off of I-4...

    Offsite with no car

Yeah, I’ve done Uber ~at~ WDW before, but like Poly to DHS for <$10 when there was a bus issue. Travel between UO/I-Drive area and WDW is pretty far, and you can get caught in a famous I-4 traffic jam.

    Remember when Skyliner was announced....

I was a big Skyliner proponent in the pre opening period. We rode it from Epcot to AoA the night before the crash, and AoA to DHS the morning of. The point of largest commentary in the family was the descent and then what felt like last-second deceleration when arriving at the Riviera station...

Lalotai 😉 Already has the tower aesthetic down 😅

    For those folks driving!

Looks like you’re starting just off the 81-77-26-95 route that a lot of us northerners take! Off the top of my head: 1. I think the mountain pass & lookouts on I-77 right near the VA/NC border are gorgeous. Definitely a nice area to pass through in daylight, especially sunrise. BUT 2. The more...

Strange Experience on SB Turnpike Just Off I-75

I've never been "stuck" but I've found the 2-lane stretch of the Turnpike between I-75 and the service plaza can very easily jam up with left-lane hogs, and you don't have the flexibility to move around people like you do on an ordinary 3-lane ~surface street~ in central FL. So I can definitely...

    LYFT to ORL Brightline

I can't help you with what security is like at Brightline, but distance-wise you're looking at ~30 minutes with no traffic depending on where you're actually coming from. This is from Grand Floridian because I figured to be safe that it'd be the farthest away (Animal Kingdom Lodge should be...

2 Poly Studios vs. 2br Copper Creek - Group of 6

We've never stayed at the Lodge, but we visit each Disney trip for the restaurants and a nice boat ride. It's plenty "Disney," from characters walking around the lobby, to the atmospheric immersion that makes you think you're a boat ride away from Frontierland (maybe because you are). The bus...

Epcot IG Skyliner - avoid the long line at the end of the day?

One thing I will say about Skyliner lines is even when they’re “long,” they’re moving… barring an actual shutdown, of course. It might look long but it’s not the same as waiting 15 minutes for a new bus to come and then squeezing in standing room only.

Cabins at Fort Wilderness Points Charts Posted! For Sale and Booking Dates too!

So I'm thinking all the speculation on the plans for DVC and the Trust are premature... they're still hiring an outsider MBA to tell them what the plan is! :duck:

    SAP+ ?

I do think Polynesian is kitschy, but in a good way. The fonts and certain things about the resort lean hard into the 1970s “The Brady Bunch Goes to Hawaii” vibe… because the resort itself has only changed so much from its own 1970s origins.

Earliest bus back to resort from the parks?

The only thing I’d add is if a Boardwalk bus were available that’d be as good or better an option than the conjoined YC/BC bus. The BC bus always stops at YC first, and the walk from bus stop to IG is similar for BC and Boardwalk.

TTC - are there resort buses

That’s true. Bus to Epcot, security, then hop on Monorail. Could even work out quicker than bus to MK in theory.

    UY and Restricted Points

If you're, say, looking at cheap but restricted Riv points, I do see where you're coming from that you're most likely going to be using those for 11-month bookings. If that's the case, you're unlikely to be wanting to combine with unrestricted points at the 7-month & onward point anyway, and...

Poly Tower decision and RIV restrictions

Re: SoG and the crossing closure, They didn’t just close pedestrian ways for the tower construction, though that’s part of it. They’re also continuing to extend the ‘highway’ portion of Floridian Way past where the new tower will be, and curving west around the parking lot that’s across from...

Driving from Ontario, on i79 and i77

Same, there's multiple permutations of how to do this. "Straight through" (slept for 4hrs at the NC welcome center on 77) was surprisingly tolerable. Ended up in central FL by midday on Day 2 which was great. We basically left Ontario on a Friday morning and were in Orlando before check-in time...
