May 2025 Solo- 9 Park Days

I did a 10 day solo trip in 2018, and I'll say that one of my favorite things I did was my Four Parks In One Day day. I had to ride at least one attraction and eat something in each park to consider it done. (A self imposed rule) I started in Epcot because it opened the earlier, back during...

DAS queueing in the ILL when joining a boarding group for GoTG:CR (or TRON:LR)

Adding another confirmation to the bunch. I went to the CMs to the far right when you walk up to Cosmic Rewind. They are holding scanners of some sort. There were 6-8 CMs there, so plenty and I never had to wait long. They scan your band twice to make the update from VQ to ILL. They had to...

Disney After Hours Q&A and Experiences Thread

It's been a couple weeks now, but I attended the Magic Kingdom After Hours event on Monday, January 15th. I had a wonderful time. I got to the park around 7ish and ate at Columbia Harbour House. I got the hushpuppies and Boston cream pie. Both were A+. Highly recommend. After that, I found...

Soarin’ Over California Returning to Epcot Until Feb 27, 2024!

Really hoping it's still running when I'm in Epcot on 1/14. I'm a sucker for some nostalgia.

Are Main Gate Pass Reservations No Longer Required?

For what it's worth -- As an out-of-state cast member who plans trips like most other guests, I'd just like to say that while having a Main Gate is an amazing perk of working for the Disney company, having to plan in advance can be difficult. Disney doesn't make it as easy to use them as you...

    Cast Member Reservations

I was able to make Cast Member reservations for that weekend, but I made them in early November -- pretty much as soon as they were made available. It is a holiday weekend, so that's likely why it's popular for CM reservations.

    Festival of the Arts

The only correct answer here is "Both!" You really can't lose with either option. If you can make both, do it. If not, go with what works better in your schedule.

    Festival of the Arts

I've never done the dining package. I've always been able to find a good spot without it. For one, I got in fairly last minute and another I made sure to be in line to enter as soon as they let people in. I've never been to one that's been packed, but your mileage may very.

    Festival of the Arts

As someone who worked at Frozen on Broadway for about two years, anyone who is able to see Caissie and Patti are in for a treat. This might be a hot take, but I prefer the Broadway version of Let It Go to the original. I may be biased, though. Getting to hear it live several times a week was...

Cast member Complimentary Ticket distribution dates

I understand why they're diligent about it. People could easily sell access to the parks with their guest passes without these policies in place. We'll know better for next time.

Cast member Complimentary Ticket distribution dates

The 4 annual comp tickets are not subject to blackout dates -- you can use them just like a ticket you would purchase directly from Disney. You do need to make park reservations, though, at least through January 8th or 9th. (something like that.) Mine have typically arrived at the end of...

    DAS and Parkhopping

It does make sense, it was just early enough in the morning where I wasn't thinking critically and tried to add the whole party, like I'd been doing all trip. To be clear, my frustration was with my lagging friends, not with the DAS system. I've since learned that while I love all of my...

    DAS and Parkhopping

When I was visiting with some friends, one group of people liked to take their time in the morning, while the rest of us liked to get to the parks early. I tried to get a DAS pass when I arrived, but it wouldn't let me add my friends who hadn't scanned in yet. Had to make the pass for the...

Disney postcard solution! + park report and maps

I'm a collector of the Wonderground postcards. I have a binder with nearly 100 of them from Festival of the Arts at Disney World, as well as the shops mentioned above. I understand the desire for inexpensive postcards for mailing, but I don't think the Wonderground ones are overpriced. I can...

    Exceptions for Shipping Merchandise Home

When I used this service in February for art from the festival, they scanned my receipts so that they can replace anything that goes missing or gets damaged. Therefore, I don't know if anything from the Character Warehouse would qualify, though I can't say for sure.

Considering First Ever Solo Trip - Tips, Suggestions, and Advice?

I'm a very independent and introverted person by nature, so solo trips are right up my alley. I do most of my travel solo, and Disney is one of the best places to do that since I feel so safe there. I've had a couple group trips in the past few years, and while I have wonderful memories from...

Crohns and DAS = denied. MODERATOR NOTE: No diagnosis is automatically allowed or denied for DAS. DAS is issued based on needs, not diagnosis

As someone who has used DAS both in a group and when traveling solo, I agree that the advance reservations are unnecessary. I have booked them in the past, and I'd say I used maybe half of them. Folks with disabilities need flexibility, which is why it's nice that day-of reservations don't...

Do Cast Members get a discount on Sebastian Bistro?

If we get discounts on dining, it's all 20% right now. (Dining run by other companies can vary.) I haven't seen a list of 40% offers since before lockdown in 2020. I believe Sebastian's is on the list. You can find it on The Hub. They update it every so often with blockout dates and it also...

Favorite all time single item you've had at Disney?

Disney World - Entree - grouper at California Grill Meal - tapas with friends at Jaleo -- too many to name Treat - either the Bread Pudding at House of Blues or Strawberry Cupcake at Be Our Guest Disneyland - Entrée - soba noodles at Carthay Circle Meal - monte cristo, pommes frites, and...

    Festival of Arts 2023

I've seen some artists sign works of theirs from previous festivals that folks buy at the Wonderground Gallery. I follow quite a few on Instagram, and they seem happy to sign any of their pieces you bring.
