Using FP+ on Mickey meet 'n greet in MK?

How was the food at Chef Mickey's? That's a great idea. Sounds better than using a FP at MK.

Using FP+ on Mickey meet 'n greet in MK?

We're going on week days, for the most part. We're not concerned about it. We'll see what happens...

Using FP+ on Mickey meet 'n greet in MK?

Hoping the crowds are more limited to Disney Studios due to Star Wars, rather than all of the parks. That's what we experienced last year with the opening of Toy Story Land!

Is Disney Springs a waste of time ?

It's a nice break from the parks. That's all ... Decent shopping and food, and a Lego store for the kids.

    4th JULY options...

My family and I visited Disney World last year for 9 days during the July 4 holiday. We avoided the parks during July 4, and the days before and after were moderately crowded. It was practically empty in Fantasy Land (Magic Kingdom), on a Sunday morning during our visit. Started to get super...

What is your touring style with kids?

Super relaxed and casual touring style...we took our 5 year old to Disney for the first time last summer, and we're returning for a shorter trip later this year. We only did one early morning for MK. We also did a hotel "rest" day. This time, we plan to do similar.

Using FP+ on Mickey meet 'n greet in MK?

Hi, does it make sense to use a FP+ on a meet and greet with Mickey in the Magic Kingdom? He has one in a theater on Main Street USA. I have a 6 year old who would love to meet him. If we go before 10 am during a slightly off period (late Sept/early October.), it might not be necessary?

Is it really that hot in the summer?

i've usually gone in July, starting when my parents took me in the third grade (decades ago, lol). Yes, June and July are hot and humid. August is sweltering. But you'll survive. A few tips: -Do the parks early morning and break at 11:30 or noon to go rest at your hotel. Or, start your park...

    Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT Information & Questions

Hi! My family and I are strongly considering a 4 night stay at All Star Movies in late Sept/early Oct. 1) Does the gift shop/food court sell small grocery store items like milk, crackers, mini boxes of cereal, bottled water, etc? 2) I read some complaints on Yelp about dirty rooms, dead...

Update: Are the Friendship Boats from IG to DHS still closed? No! Reopened!

I hope the boats are back by 6/29...I saw that somewhere mentioned as the date when work should be done. Annoying, since I specifically booked the Dolphin to have the boat option.

    Long Haul Flight Survival Tips

When I flew to Sydney (leaving from Newark, flying to LA with a short layover), I found that the trip was bearable by arranging my time on the plane the way I normally would, during a typical day. e.g. - put on pajamas/sweats and brushed teeth prior to bedtime, before bedtime, ate dinner and...

Uber with carseats - Orlando Airport

It looks like it's fairly easy to Uber from Orlando Airport to my hotel (Disney Dolphin Hotel), however, does anyone know how easy it is to catch one with a car seat (already installed in the car)? I'll be traveling with a 5 year old. Thanks!

What is the first news story you remember?

The Challenger explosion and the Pan Am 103 terrorist attack. And, now I remember (after reading a few other responses), Baby Jessica in the well.

    Official July 2018 Thread!

I've only gone to Disney in July. Yes, it's hot, but I'd recommend going on rides in the morning, and then heading back to the hotel between 11:30 am - 1 pm to relax, hang out by the pool, nap, etc. and then go back out for dinner. Also, bring a small misting fan, utilize FP+, etc.

    Official July 2018 Thread!

I'm glad I found this thread. Heading to Disney with my family (husband, young son and my parents), and haven't been in about 20 years. I've always visited in July, so that's all I know. Still, a bit concerned about the heat but we'll have FP+ and with some careful planning, we should be okay...

Which resort would you NOT stay at again...

My family and I were originally booked in Port Orleans, but we changed it to the Swan/Dolphin given the new rule allowing dogs. We were so annoyed and disappointed, but looking forward to staying at the Swan/Dolphin!

Quiet rooms at the Dolphin Hotel?

Hi - I'm looking for advice from people who have stayed at the Disney World Dolphin Hotel. I'd like to request a room that's far away from noise (e.g. elevators, air-conditioning vents), yet one that's not a far walk from the main lobby and restaurants. I'm traveling with a few people who have...

Should we have a rest day?

Great advice! My family is very similar, we enjoy relaxing in the hotel room in the morning, having a leisurely breakfast in the room, etc. I feel like most families with small kids are up super early and charged to go. Not us! We only have one day planned where it's an early start - hoping to...
