    Favorite restaurant Disneyland

I have eaten there twice. The first time was a steak (sorry it's been too long to remember the cut), the second time was a special they were running. I wish I could remember exactly what it was, but it was a white fish filet seasoned with Moroccan spices. I'm not much of a seafood guy at all but...

    Favorite restaurant Disneyland

I can’t speak to with kids. Without kids the atmosphere at Blue Bayou (request a table near the water) and Carthay Circle are amazing. I’ve read mixed reviews about the food at Blue Bayou but I personally have always enjoyed my food there.

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

Guaranteed Week Purchase if buying Riviera/Direct

Riviera GW owner here as well. I bought a GW for early December in a standard studio. So far I’m happy I did, one disadvantage that’s so obvious it’s easy to overlook though is that you’re locked into seven nights at that resort Sunday to Sunday. You cannot modify the reservation at all. So for...

    Fantasmic Dining Package :)

They had a red beans and rice starter that was excellent. Not quite a soup but close.

    World of Color Superthread

We stayed at the Grand Californian (overlooking DCA) over the weekend and a strange warning showed up on the TV saying there could be noise from DCA on Sunday. At 11:45pm last night I was awakened to them rehearsing some kind of WoC show. It was loud and definitely not the holiday version. I was...

    Fantasmic Dining Package :)

We did the BB package on Saturday, we weren’t given any cushions and neither was anyone in our section. Hopefully that isn’t a permanent change, it was a really nice touch.

Best Way to Stream Disney+ on a "Non-Smart" TV?

I really like the Roku streaming stick. I like it so much that I put one on both my Samsung TVs even though they're both "smart." I find them to be inexpensive and super easy to use.

    An adult pool at Riviera?

I asked my guide this question because Aulani has an adult only pool; he confirmed there is no audit only pool at DRR, just the quiet pool.

New SWGE Superthread! Now Open to All! (6/24/2019)

They opened up this morning and I made our reservations for our November trip! Just wanted to post a reminder since it looks like no one else has.

DVC Moonlight Magic at Disney California Adventure Park - November 14th

Just got my reservation! So excited, I never thought we'd get this in California while I was at DLR!

Can you tell me if this would work? Banking/borrowing for a trip every 3 years.

Not to pile on, but I’ve looked very hard at a small contract for VGF and passed for the reasons cited by the above posters. Standard studios at VGF during the fall are difficult to come by. If that’s when you’re looking to use VGF points, I would buy enough for a one bedroom or look elsewhere.

    Should we wait for recession?

Not to get in the middle of this discussion, but this a myth floating around here that has been debunked by the outstanding research of @dvcsince93: https://www.disboards.com/threads/purchased-riviera.3741731/page-5#post-60658952

    Disney plus offer

There was a rumor that Hulu is looking into making Disney Plus an add on channel, like HBO or Cinemax, but nothing official has been announced yet.

The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 2.0

Thanks. Given how small VGC is I didn't expect it to stick, but thought I'd check anyway.

The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 2.0

Has anyone had any luck with the DVC member check in desk? It was just opening when we were there in February but I never saw a CM manning it during the four days we were there.

Direct Points "Membership Card" v. Resale "Membership Identification"

Has anyone else noticed this on the DVC Website? I swear resale (post 4/2016) and direct points both used to have a "Membership Card" but now looks like there's a distinction besides color: Member number with direct points: Member number with resale only points: Maybe this was there all...

How much did you visit BEFORE your DVC purchase?

Yup. After my first visit as an adult I understood the value of staying in the bubble but didn't want to pay the nightly rate Disney charges at Disneyland. Even though it's a lot more money upfront, I saw how owning DVC in the long term could make financial sense. I then realized that to get the...
