    Longer cruises from Galveston?

Oohhh, from your mouth to the mouse's ears. I would love that!

    Longer cruises from Galveston?

I agree with others that for whatever reason, they seem to have shifted to shorter cruises out of Galveston in recent years. In 2017 we did a 7-day NYE cruise to Nassau, Key West, and Castaway Cay that was awesome (although there were rough seas coming back). Now they hardly ever go to CC from...

Placeholder Question - Chase points and transferring to TA?

Yep, if you want to use your Sapphire points for a Disney cruise, your only option is to put it on your card like anything else, and then use the "pay me back" option to get a statement credit. Unfortunately you lose that awesome 1.5x point bonus in the process.

Galveston and San Diego ports vs Port Canaveral

I've sailed out of Galveston three times. There is not anything permanently Disney. As someone else noted, there are movable Disney signs and banners. The employees have Disney tags. And at least once Mickey was walking through the waiting area. It's otherwise a perfectly fine terminal in my...

New Cruises Listed for Fall 2024!!

They used to offer cruises out of Galveston that visited CC. We did one in 2017. It seems like the Galveston cruises all stick to Mexico now though. I know they won't have a shortage of excited guests, but this release was pretty uninspiring for my Houston family.

    Dream Spa/Salon for teens

We were on the Dream in March 2023. I asked about the Chill Spa for my teen and they told me about my options. The physical space for the Chill Spa was being used for something else, but they offered several services for teens in the regular spa space. My daughter got a blow-out. I don't...

Want to know if a Costco Shop Card be used for future cruises/travel?

I used mine on Southwest gift cards ($450 for $500) which I then used for flights to Miami for our next cruise.

    DCL Confessions

I carry our incomplete Cove Cafe card around in my wallet 365 days a year and finish it on the next cruise. This past June when DH presented a (nearly three year old) card with three stamps already on it on embarkation day, the barista said “wow you really like coffee.” 😜

    Galveston Texas Port Questions/Help needed

Gotcha. I understand now that your question is more about transportation efficiency. Obviously since I live here I'm really not as versed on shuttling options. But I will reiterate that there's pretty much nothing to do in walking distance of the airport hotels, so if you end up coming two days...

    Galveston Texas Port Questions/Help needed

Hello. Houston native here, who has cruised from Galveston three times. I agree with the others that it kind of depends on what you want to do. But neither Hobby nor Bush have a lot to do in the immediate area around the airport. If you want to see Houston I suggest staying near the museum...

Vancouver Hotels - What would you recommend?

We stayed in the Pan Pacific in a harbor view panoramic room and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Watching the ship come in just after sunrise was so special. It was like Christmas morning for my kids (who were 15 and 11!).

    Vancouver Hotels

Well, it was my 11 year-old that slept on the rollaway and he didn't complain. I didn't pay much attention but I noticed that I thought they provided comfy bedding to go with it. The 15 year-old didn't say anything about the couch either. I used a lot of my credit card rewards to book the room...

    Vancouver Hotels

It was called a "harbor view panoramic room." I remember that the website was confusing because it's listed just as a single king, but then the fine print added the fold out couch and rollaway. I called just to confirm we would be getting.

I’m going to try to attach a panoramic photo here. We stayed at the Pan Pacific in the panorama room. It had a queen bed, a couch that folded out, and plenty of room for the rollaway. Three separate beds and amazing views of the ship as it came in!

    Hotel in miami

When did you stay there? That's what I have booked for March, but the recent reviews look pretty negative. When we did Alaska last summer we booked a hotel where we could watch the ship come in, and we loved it, so that's why the Doubletree caught my eye.

    New Years Cruise

Our Disney cruise was probably my favorite New Years Eve ever! The Merrytime decorations were still all up when we boarded on Dec 28. They were taking them down when we were disembarking the last day. NYE was our formal night and there were (extra!) fireworks that night, along with champagne at...

Do the cruise Coffee Cards carryover from cruise to cruise / ship to ship?

We were on the Wonder last month for the first time since 2019. I had carried my coffee card in my wallet all that time (it was a sentimental piece of hope through the pandemic). On embarkation afternoon last month my husband went to Cove and gave them our card which already had three stamps...

    Dawes glacier excursion questions

When we went June 15, I would not say it was rocky but we definitely went fast. The Wonder left the glacier much earlier and we sailed around and explored and then had to catch up. The wind and cold temperatures made me very glad I’d brought my gloves and hat. We LOVED the excursion.

What is the pin trading situation on the Disney Wonder?

Just disembarked the wonder today. Our cruise group had a spreadsheet of people participating in pin trading via cork boards on their doors. My kids made the rounds several times. A couple times, specific crew members they had bonded with gave them a special pin (pixie dusted). Also, I don’t...
