Boy do they oversell this Halloween party!!!

I was told Disney don’t pay a cent for the candy; it’s all provided free as part of sponsorship deals

Why is it so busy at Hollywood Studios today?

Went over to HS this afternoon and now at Fantasmic. Theatre completely full by 7:30pm

Why is it so busy at Hollywood Studios today?

Similar story in Epcot today: we have never seen it this busy in all our time (even when we came on New Years Eve a few years ago).

What was going on with the crowds at MK last night?

Been here a week. Worst crowds we’ve ever seen. Everywhere is insanely busy. We usually visit during summer or the holidays. Will never return in October again; these crowds are no fun.

    Epcot Extremely Crowded

We’ve been here a week. The crowds are insane everywhere. We normally visit in the summer; this is our first October trip and we will never come in October again! We are done with these crowds and wait times!

Boy do they oversell this Halloween party!!!

There are no fastpasses. Candy was usual stuff like Twix bars. They were very cheap with the candy; it was one (very) small handful. Lines for candy were very long: we waited 30 mins.

Boy do they oversell this Halloween party!!!

We had a horrible experience at the October 8 party. It was so overcrowded we couldn’t move near the castle or on Main Street and our kids didn’t get much candy as the lines were way too long. We waited 30 mins at one trick or treat point. We couldn’t get anywhere near the parades. The...

    Bedbugs at Hilton Gatwick!

Same! It's a disgusting excuse for a Hilton. We will never ever stay there again and spent the whole night longing for the Sofitel. The lobby was filthy and needed a renovation, the room had torn sheets, damaged furniture, a bathroom equivalent to what you'd find in a 2 star motel - overall it...

Do CMs treat people as they are treated?

We've had the opportunity to visit Disneyland California many times in the past couple years and - based on my recent trip to DLRP - I can honestly say that the CMs in CA are in a totally different league and entirely incomparable to those in Paris. In fact, the parks are as a whole, but I guess...

    Just back....some thoughts

I haven't posted in a long time but we recently got back from visiting friends in Paris and spent a few days at Disney. I was - to be frank - gob-smacked at the attitude of many CMs and shocked at the complete lack of customer service skills and basic politeness. I rarely even got a 'thank you'...

    Hotels at universal

I'm very surprised the previous poster described the Universal resorts as not child-friendly. We have had numerous stays at both Hard Rock Hotel and Portofino Bay Hotel and there have always been lots of children enjoying the resorts. At both hotels there were plenty of pool games and...

    Toy Story 3

I can't even begin to stress how much I loved this movie. The ending is absolutely beautiful and so very emotional. Every scene is truly perfect. After some of their recent work I wasn't sure Pixar could go any better, but Toy Story 3 is without doubt not only my favourite Pixar/Disney movie...

Virgin's London Heathrow to Miami route.

Heathrow is much nicer than Gatwick, for a start (in my opinion). You are more likely to benefit from travelling on an Airbus plane - inside the furnishings are newer, the planes seem quieter and the the interior is much less warn and tired. However, I believe that the LHR-MIA route does still...

    Best way to take money?

In this day and age I really struggle to understand why people go through the hassle of Traveller's Cheques. Fee-free credit/debit cards are by far the most cost effective way to spend abroad, and if you're not keen on these then the pre-loaded cards are a good alternative (although you won't...

    'Disney' holiday or 'Orlando' holiday?

I agree. All of our time is spent on Disney or Universal property, we don't venture off-site at all. Orlando, as a place, does nothing for us.

Loading Disney Hotel Room Key with funds

Do you not use a credit card, then? As Wayne points out, it's no different to dropping your CC. Disney don't require signatures for purchases under $50 and very rarely ask for photo ID. At least if you drop your room key and it gets used fraudulently the charges likely won't have been charged to...

Any Apple Mac users? I need advice, please.

We have an iMac and DH and I also have MacBook Pros. I was intending to upgrade mine but was advised against it as, apparently, a new version is coming out in the next few weeks. Something to keep in mind as it sounds like it will be worth waiting to ensure you get the most up-to-date hardware...

Loading Disney Hotel Room Key with funds

We never had an authorization hold placed on our credit card this past Christmas, either. I'm not sure about before as I never usually bother checking, but I know for certain we didn't this Christmas as I checked the account online during our trip.

    Trainer dies at SeaWorld...

Such sad news. :( Me too. My DH and children enjoyed SeaWorld (and Discovery Cove) but I felt very uncomfortable and fortunately we have not been back. They're such incredible creatures and seeing them perform like that really made me feel sad.

Room requests if booking with Virgin

Online Check-In is very unreliable at the moment. Most resorts do not allow you to enter any specific room requests via the online check-in, they simply allow you to tick a box saying you want a room "near the elevator" etc.
