Adults and Solo Trips Central ** Updated 5/8/07

I recommend doing the dessert party during the Halloween party. Though it is an extra ticket, you get all you can eat desserts and a great view of the show without having to deal with the crowds.

    Meet Jack Sparrow @ PotC?

I was going through the FastPass line at PotC and I noticed two Disney employees standing near the powder (as in boom) room. Inside was Jack Sparrow meeting with some guests. Is this part of the VIP tours/customized experiences? Gotta admit, kinda cool.

    Solo & Dining

I don't think it would be too dark for a phone or kindle. A paperback would be tough IMHO. The bigger issue is the ambient noise Between the show and the communal seating it is pretty noisy.

Disney Springs past midnight: what's open?

Sigh, this thread makes me miss Pleasure Island, particularly the Adventurers Club

Going to Orlando first 2 weeks in May

Are you doing any of the parks? For a stay that long, I recommend venturing beyond Orlando; for example, you can go kayaking on the Indian or Banana Rivers. Some parameters would be useful to tailor the advice.

    Solo & Dining

I never have made a special request when being seated at Biergarten. Getting up to get food even when I was up on the railing wasn't really an issue. I can't really recall exactly where I have ended up--mostly because it hasn't been an issue. Asking for a specific seat when you check-in might...

Going on our first trip to WDW!

If you go to Universal I highly recommend you stay at one of the three premium on-property hotels (Hard Rock, portofino, or royal pacific). Not only do you get early admission, but you get the express pass for free for your entire stay. Express pass is $70+ per person per day.

    Solo & Dining

I wouldn't worry about either Mama Melrose or Sci Fi as a solo traveler. I find the food to be subpar at Sci Fi, so being underwhelmed might be the bigger worry.

    Solo & Dining

I've done Biergarten multiple times by myself and never had a bad experience. Even if the other people are not chatty with you, the show is a useful distraction and it is a buffet (get small portions and go multiple times). That said, I also enjoy going to the 50s Prime Time Cafe. You can...

THREAD CLOSED. Don't know how to delete previous survey.

Not to trying to sound like a bully here, but there are two problems with your post. First, it is unlikely that you will get a statistically representative sample, so your conclusions will not be reliable. Second, there is no documentation that this survey has been approved by your...

Before or After (October or November)

You might want to consider when race weekend is for Food & Wine. The 2019 date has not posted, but it will be the 10th anniversary so it is likely to busier than average. If you are not a runner, you probably want to avoid that weekend.

Dessert Party Solo - Go or No Go?

Enjoy the desserts--make sure you go hungry to maximize the gorging! It is quite the spread--I'm allergic to chocolate and there still is plenty for me to choose from.

When are you Going? Post Your Dates and Find A Match!!! Things to do! Peeps to Meet!

I'm going to be at WDW for the 10K/Half this weekend. Picking up the race packet Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday after the race. Have absolutely no plans, so if anyone wants to meetup, I'm game.

Dessert Party Solo - Go or No Go?

Totally worth going solo. Everybody is focused on the show, so no need to feel self conscious.

How to make first adult only trip not too exhausting and stressful?

15 miles is probably on the low end-20 is not unusual. I generally recommend that people with younger children take a midday nap because the kids will be much happier. Though you don't have kids, that might be something to consider. If you are planning a park opening to park closing kind of...

We AREN'T a Family, Antiquated Disney Nomenclature

FWIW, the definition of family according to Websters (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/family) encompasses "non-traditional" arrangements--it even includes crime syndicates like the Mafia. I think there is a subversive angle if you think of the crime syndicate definition every time...

Carribean Beach Resort Solo in January

I would not rely too much on single rider as there is not many rides that have it (e.g.no single rider at MK). I often make the FastPass choices the day of (or day before). I'm local, so I'm not picky on which ride I get on--I just like the shorter wait. I don't use a FastPass on rides that...
