    Baltimore Key Bridge collapss

My DH travels that bridge frequently for work. So sad. Thank God it wasn’t during rush hour. The tunnels (and traffic in general) are going to be crazy as they compensate for the 30,000 plus people that would ordinarily be using the bridge each day. I’m praying for everyone involved. Horrible.

    Easter Traditions

Wow it is neat to hear of someone else doing this! Outside of my family I’ve never heard of anyone doing it or even knowing what it is either. I googled it recently though and it is actually a real tradition. We’re not just crazy lol. It’s nice to hear about how you carry on your grandfathers...

    Easter Traditions

In the morning the kids get baskets. Later We do a big Easter egg hunt which even my teens always want to do because the golden egg has a $20 bill in it lol. Then we have a big Easter party/dinner with the whole extended family, and after we eat we “peck” eggs, where everyone grabs a dyed boiled...

    Happy Saint Patrick's Day 2024

I’ve been to England but never Ireland. Plan on going next year though. My family’s from Enniskillen, Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. I found their marriage and birth records on Ancestry. Really cool.

    Happy Saint Patrick's Day 2024

I’ve always been told I’m half Italian and half French, my mothers French. But turns out I’m only 5 percent Italian, 45 percent Irish, 20 percent Germanic European and 30 percent north Western European. Had no idea I was Irish at all.

    Happy Saint Patrick's Day 2024

I got my dna done and it turns out I’m 45 percent Irish, so I guess it’s obligatory to celebrate from now on lol. My son builds a leprechaun trap each year, he almost caught one this year, it left him a note, which he was very excited about lol.

Our worst day at WDW in 16 years...

We typically visit Disney the two weeks after thanksgiving but this coming year we’re debating between the first two weeks of February or the first two weeks of March. We have Feb booked now but were considering moving to March. After reading all this I guess we’ll stick with February. I didn’t...

Walt Disney World Announces Changes for 2025 + A New Perk

Do you work for Disney lol? You’re strangely aggressive about this topic. I think it’s funny that you think that the people on here are the greedy ones. People are paying huge amounts of money and expect a lot because of this. Prices are increasing constantly all the while Disney has removed...

Have to make dining reservations soon - need advice

I have a boy around your DGS ages and he loves TRex, rainforest cafe, chef mickeys, Sci fi, woodys roundup, whispering canyon, Ohana for breakfast, coral reef and cosmic rays for Sonny Eclipse. I know most of these were mentioned, and my son loves them too so they’re probably safe bets.

Where do DVCers vacation … outside of DVC?

We do a beach house on Pawleys Island (south of Myrtle Beach) every August, rent a cabin in the mountains every fall (western Maryland or West Virginia) to see the leaves change, then Disney is in winter and late spring or early summer we typically visit Europe to visit family. Sometimes we’ll...

    slo’s WEDNESDAY 3/6 poll - Phone Tracking 📲

I make my kids keep the “share my location” on on their phones but I only use it if I don’t know where they are and they don’t answer my texts or calls. I have an apple and Dh has a Samsung so we couldn’t share locations if we wanted to. I recently found out my kids have my phone set to share my...

Are you more of a card or a cash kind of person?

Card. Specifically, my phone. I do Apple Pay everywhere I can. Where I can’t I use a card

    OKW or Saratoga?

I like OKW in general much more than SS, but if you’re comparing deluxe studios SS is better. It’s nice to be able to fold up Murphy bed for more room (and it’s just as comfortable as a real bed imo) and OKWs tv is super small and the studio doesn’t feel as Disney to me as the SS studio. I love...

    Re-discovering Disney October 2024 PTR

Maybe you just needed a break from it. Glad you’re so excited for it, plannings half the fun! And the Midlands has such beautiful landscapes and villages, you’re so lucky to live there! We’re set to visit England again next year and so looking forward to it! Good luck with your trip, I’ll be...

When do you book your flight?

We usually drive to Disney but when we fly domestically we usually buy tickets about 6-8 weeks ahead of time for the best deals. When flying internationally (which we do much more than domestically) we get tickets about 3-4 months prior to travel. And as others have said Tuesday-Tuesday travel...

Can we talk about grocery prices? Who wants to guess $

My nearest Wegmans is over half hour away. Too far to go regularly. I shop at Lidl or Aldis for the basics and I’ll supplement with the grocery store for things I can’t get at Lidl or Aldi. We spend about $300 per week on groceries. We are a large family, 5 kids, and I cook and bake a lot. I...
