We just got back last night. What a fantastic trip! It was cold some mornings but every afternoon was sunny and beautiful and not a drop of rain the entire time. We did everything we came to do and then some! I hope everybody whose January trip is still to come has a fantastic time!

We had park tickets and had to exit and come back in around 7:00 to get our lanyards.

We went back to get our lanyards before the dessert party. We asked three different CMs and they all said we had to actually exit and rescan our MBs to get lanyards. I feel like the dessert party was a mistake because we could have been using the lanyard as a FP between 7-8 and riding rides...

Yeah, I shouldn’t have made it seem like there were throngs of people without lanyards riding rides. I saw someone being turned away at BTMR at 9:15, which made me wonder what they had been doing up until then and CMs weren’t actually checking lanyards at SM when we rode. There were still a lot...

Looking at other reviews, it seems like the mistake we made was doing the fireworks dessert party the same night. We spent a good bit of the DAH time watching the fireworks and then making our way out of the hub when we could have been riding rides.

Oh, one other thing I meant to add. There were people without lanyards getting in line for rides until at least 9:00. At BTMR, I finally saw a CM turning people without lanyards away around 9:15, but up until that point CMs didn’t seem to be stopping anyone from getting in line. Edited to add...

Sounds like it was good we left when we did. We managed to catch the last monorail back to the Poly. When we got back though, we found that our Magic Band access to our longhouse had been cut off,and it took a walk back to the front desk and 10 minutes with a CM to get that sorted. :sad2:

They made us leave the park and come back in, which was different from what a CM told us when we entered the park 40 minutes earlier. We were originally told that we just had to come to the gate area but not actually leave. It didn’t take that long to go out and come back in, but fighting the...

Right, I just meant go back to the gate. It’ll be fine. I just wish I could run back and get them for everyone without dragging everyone back to the gate from the dessert party.

They are also making everyone in the party come back to get his or her lanyard. We’re going to have to come back between the dessert party and fireworks.

We’re going to the Fireworks Dessert Party first using a park ticket. What a pain if we have to leave the park to get our lanyards.

I am currently trying (and failing) to get my six-year-old to nap before we head to the Fireworks Dessert Party and DAH tonight. DH and I are thinking of dropping him off at Lilo’s Playhouse and going by ourselves. Just kidding (mostly).

They don’t have actual ropes but they have a couple of CMs stationed at each of the pathways out of Fantasyland to prevent people from wandering into other sections of the park before RD. It just goes to show how uncrowded the EMMs are that a couple of CMs are all they need to contain folks.

I’m so glad I went ahead and bought tickets last week! We are very much looking forward to it and will report back on what a sold out crowd looks like. I’m still more worried about DS6 being able to hang until 11:00 than I am about it being too crowded. :laughing:

We’re taking a mid-day break from the parks, so I wanted to post a quick report from this morning’s EMM in light of all the complaints about the one last week. Things couldn’t have gone more smoothly today. We arrived at MK about 7:35, and a CM checked us in quickly and put on our wrist bands...

There haven't been any changes in hours. MK opens at 9:00 every day next week except Sunday. So if the park opens at 9:00, they start letting everyone on to Main Street at 7:45? I knew they let people in before the park officially opened, but didn't realize it was that much before.

One day until we arrive at the Poly! We’ve never even visited before so this is totally new for us. I can’t wait to see it in person instead of just in pictures! :stitch:

Good question. Our CRT ADR is at 8:00, and the confirmation email instructed us to arrive 5 minutes early and to allow 15 minutes to walk from the gate. That would require us to be let in by 7:40. Will that be allowed?
