After Hours Events - Ask Questions and Share Experiences Here

In the past, DVC members could enter at 4pm to the evening parties as a perk. Not sure how long ago that ended as we typically didn’t take advantage

    ABD Scotland, brings back memories!

Gleneagles is phenomenal. We preferred it over Waldorf, Ritz, etc It was a great home base for day trips to historic fishing villages

    ABD Scotland, brings back memories!

Calypso, I read your Scotland ABD trip report before our trip! I would quote you on our trip, tell DH, “Well, Calypso said….” Your report was so helpful to me!

    ABD Scotland, brings back memories!

DH estimates 30-32 were in the lobby queuing for the bus. (From the same intel that brought us guide Larry, so take it for what it’s worth!)

ABD Scotland was perfect for us at the time we went. But it’s definitely a sizable group. Isle of Skye and Plockton today

    ABD Scotland, brings back memories!

I looked up the new Scotland itinerary after I read your post. It doesn’t much resemble the trip I took. Any idea whatever became of the Brave tapestry that they had the ABD groups participate in weaving?

    ABD Scotland, brings back memories!

I had bad intel. My DH and DS insisted “Larry” was a guide. One guide is definitely Claire and the other guide has beautiful, curly, auburn hair. They had their hands full with a large group this morning so I didn’t approach. I just watched them from afar like they were movie stars.

    ABD Scotland, brings back memories!

Our first trip to Europe with our then 7 year old was ABD Scotland. We are back in Scotland with our now 16 year old, on our own this time. We are at the Waldorf where the ABD is staying! It was Balmoral hotel for our ABD in 2014. Brought back memories to see the ABD gathering in the lobby...

Awful smelling rooms at Boardwalk Villas/Inn

We were there last summer with two One bed room villas side by side. One stunk and one didn’t. Had that wet, mildew stink. I went to front desk and they sent someone to spray the stinky room but it didn’t help. We just tolerated it. I would still stay there but I would bring febreeze

Question re Beaches and Cream (these days)

They aren’t messy. That is not how they were raised. I do find it possible to transfer food, including liquids, without making a mess. And we certainly wouldn’t leave it for others to clean up. They aren’t toddlers.

Question re Beaches and Cream (these days)

I think it sounds fun!! We go to Beaches for the experience not the ice cream, truly. I think my boys would find the experience of transferring an ice cream at a time to family waiting on the Boardwalk to be something to remember

Question re Beaches and Cream (these days)

for my group of 6, it’s me, DH and 4 teenage boys. We have two reservations for two people 90 minutes apart. I think the boys would just find it funny to carry out a couple kitchen sinks and no way Jose. We are staying at Boardwalk so I might just send in two boys at a time.
