I want to take a nap at the Polynesian

Ditch the Poly plan and head to the Contemporary's "secret" 3rd floor where the ballrooms are at. It's always deserted and there are very comfy chairs there. Primo nap spot. :)

2 nights before cruise: where to stay!?

I would prefer Coronado for a resort stay out of those options tbh. Values are a no go to me if you are not going into the parks, and POFQ was a one and done for me though. Coronado has more and way better dining options on site and has some fun and unique activities at the resort, depending on...

Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

Supposedly it is running every 30 minutes, and with the transit time involved in getting a bus to Disney Springs, then connecting...idk.

    Beyond Big Thunder

I would bet dollars to donuts AK gets a new nighttime show when Tropical Americas opens. At that point that's enough for the "it's a half day park" crowd (sidenote: that's a lie) to stick around long enough for the evenings, and I can't see these random drone shows at Disney Springs as anything...

Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I won't lie, this was actually the first thing I thought of when they announced they were extending the SAB closure. I really enjoy shorter stays at BC/YC, like on a weekend getaway, and I prefer the quiet pool anyway!

Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

Lynx (local transit) is running a new line connecting MCO, Uni, I-Drive and Disney Springs. https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2024/04/16/lynxs-new-bus-route-links-orlandos-airport-to-tourist-destinations/ Tbh I don't see this being practical for most people. It drops off at Disney...

Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

I remember when they used to utilize Wonders of Life as a festival center! But I'm actually relieved PLAY! fell through because that honestly sounded like it would be dated right out of the gate and we'd be right back to the issues we had with Innoventions. I still feel like Inside Out would be...

    Why is Poly so expensive

I have never paid $800 to stay at the Poly and it's my favorite resort on property. I don't rent DVC points either (I don't like the lack of flexibility). We started staying there on the "magical" deals and while those are sadly gone, we have always gotten discounts. tbf it is still expensive...

Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

2019. Believe it or not, this is how it used to be. This perpetual festival situation was squarely because of the pandemic closures, they were desperate for revenue and the booths were easy money from locals, who they were initially relying on heavily due to the travel slowdowns. Tbh I think...

Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

A lot of people literally just go there to ride Dinosaur and then bounce. Including me lol. Except the last few times I've been down I haven't even managed that much because the ride is in such terrible shape. Last time we only managed to get loaded into the ride vehicle before getting...

2023 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Information and Planning Thread

Yeah, definitely. A lot of people who don't remember the before times don't know we didn't have festivals 24/7/365 at Epcot all the time...I feel like those abnormally long festivals in the reopening period were a way to boost revenue from locals when many tourists and those of us out of state...

Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

I don't think there's anything wrong with a dinosaur themed area either (the Dino Institute section isn't bad imo, just dated), but I think Tropical Americas goes way better with the rest of the park. The other lands are all based on immersing yourself in a place with the flora and fauna and...

2023 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Information and Planning Thread

A lot of people have been speculating this + the shorter F&G dates meant that they are going to add a summer festival but I really feel like if that were the case we would have heard about it by now. Food & Wine is the flagship festival so having it be the first to show off Communicore Hall...

🚗Car, 🚌Bus or 🚐Minnie Van from AKL? ALSO: Thoughts on MK Resorts Transportation Jan. 2025?

The benefit is being able to go on your own schedule rather than waiting on transportation to start. It's an invaluable advantage for Early Entry strategies, because walkers will always get there before people taking any kind of transportation. Also it's just a gorgeous walk--much more scenic...

🚗Car, 🚌Bus or 🚐Minnie Van from AKL? ALSO: Thoughts on MK Resorts Transportation Jan. 2025?

It is still way too early to speculate about operational impacts of the Poly tower on the monorail tbh. I would imagine that Disney will run trains more frequently during busier times, but even so, I think it's overblown. As frequent Poly guests we've never had issues with packed monorails. At...

    Disney Returning to NYC?

This is what keeps us from booking in Europe with DCL tbh. Euro cruises are so port intensive that the extreme premium Disney charges over the other lines is something I just can't justify when we are not spending as much time on the ship.

Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Information & Questions + Construction Updates

I haven't stayed in one since the renos, but I really enjoyed the deluxe king room. The one downside is they are kind of inconvenient to the lobby, since you have to take 2 elevators to get to it. But they are very convenient to the courtyard pool and the MK walking path.

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

This right here is why Skyliner resorts are a no sell for me. Every single time I've been to Epcot in the Skyliner era I have witnessed a cluster like this at least once. I have no idea why they can't get it together at Epcot with their contingency procedures.

    Grand FLoridian or Beach CLub

I’ve stayed at both and personally with kids focusing on MK, I say GF and it’s not even close. MK is so stressful for me to get home to at the end of the night from anywhere but a monorail resort and I remember that with no small amount of irritation every single time I’ve stayed elsewhere...

    Delta - so expensive!

Even September is higher—when we moved our trip from May, JetBlue went up. $371 pp crazy for JFK-MCO in shoulder season and is comparable to Delta’s pricing for the exact same flight. Delta is usually the more expensive of the 2. We are booked on points so it’s not awful, but I am waiting for...
