    San Diego Hotel

We stayed at the Harborview Inn & Suites on W Grape St, granted it is a 2-star hotel and the WiFi was a bit slow at times - but the room itself (for my wife & myself) was quite spacious. It didn't have a full kitchen but there was a fridge that worked well, alongside a sink & our own bathroom...

    Airport Experiences in SoCal

I guess international travellers to DL tend to have no choice but to fly into LAX. We have to grin & bear it. Hopefully once the new people-mover transit service gets going it'll improve.

    Los Angeles bus tour

There is one called 'A Day in LA' which do regular pickups around the DL area - one of the collection points is outside the Cheesecake Factory on Katella.

    Recs needed for Airport Transportation

Karmel Shuttle is also worth considering too - like Lansky, not cheap but the service is excellent and the drivers are very accommodating too.

Car rental vs. Uber/Lyft for split Disneyland/L.A. family trip

Regarding the sciencey thing mentioned - another place worth visiting is the California Science Center. They've got quite a lot on display there which should interest both of your children too, on lots of topics. Entry is largely free most of the time (although check the time of year just to be...

6 full days in Las Vegas - What to do?

A visit to the Grand Canyon is definitely worth it :)

Best way to get to/from LA from Anaheim

LA traffic does take quite a bit of getting used to but - providing you take it steady and don't rush to be in places for certain timeframes then you should be OK. Also, when it comes to actually hiring a car, do consider avoiding the LAX area and also Disney - outside of these areas the price...

    Car Rental Rates Idea

We hired a car on our recent trip from the UK to LA / Orange area back at Christmas whilst we were out for a few weeks - a top tip is to avoid the airport rental rates AND also the rental rates close to Disney as well. If you avoid those, you can save a great deal of money. We managed to hire a...

    Transportation from LAX

It can depend on traffic of course, if it's not too bad then you're looking at around 45 mins or so.

    Transportation from LAX

Karmel Shuttle is a fantastic choice to go for - their background is decent, which is a help. The drivers are usually prompt (even despite the famous LA traffic) on collecting you from LAX and also when they take you back to LAX. Lyft is also worth considering though - there are a number of...

    Is DL area safe

Coming from the UK and having been to DL a number of times - as others have said, there are homeless people about but they don't tend usually to disturb you. This part of Anaheim is a safe area in general - the cops do tend to ensure that it stays that way. Just take basic precautions and you'll...

    Transport from Anaheim to LAX

If you happen to have an Ipad in your possession, particularly if it only uses wi-fi, you can use Facetime audio to make calls to the US at no cost. Hopefully this'll help.

    Transport from Anaheim to LAX

Security and immigration is, to be fair, quite a bit quicker since the new system of simplified arrival was brought in. We noticed this when we arrived on Christmas Day 2022. Our luggage also didn't take too long to get to us either, though there was a slight delay for trolleys.

Experienced with DLR in the fall, now help with what might be different this time around please :)

Schools in Utah are also on some kind of break during October as well, not that this is a problem of course. We've noticed this when visiting DL and the Anaheim area during October. But the families from Utah are a friendly bunch :)

    Transport from Anaheim to LAX

Karmel Shuttle are very good - you shouldn't be disappointed with them. Pre-pandemic they were certainly one of the transportation leaders and I don't believe this has changed, despite the difficulties associated with the pandemic and the closure of DL for over a year. I'm sure they'll be very...

Car service to Disneyland from La Jolla?

There are quite a few companies around who will do this, it's just a case of searching around online.

    San Diego hidden gems?

Also, on Coronado island, we can recommend a lovely restaurant called 'The Tavern'. It's close to the shopping area, near to where the trolleybuses drop off and pick up.

    San Diego hidden gems?

San Diego is certainly a wonderful city to visit. Next time we go, we are hoping to do some more of the museums in Balboa Park area.

Train from San Diego to Disneyland?

Don't necessarily discount the 2-star hotels in the Little Italy area - we stayed in one recently (Harborview Inn & Suites) in SD. Whilst there was no on-site restaurant for meals, the hotel itself was comfortable and clean. and the room was a decent size too. Our hotel also had a small car...
