Yes it can be shared, no restrictions on how you use the credits on the lanyard. And it can be used for snack credits, for popcorn, pretzels, and bottled beverages I believe, but those are basically the same price as the credits cost with the AP lanyard, so for max value use it up in the mardi...

Well, the race had water. No on course nutrition or electolyte. Definitely a disappointment in that regard. There is definitely some room for improvement, but the course and character interactions were pretty great, so I think it has some potential in the future once it gets the issues ironed out.

There was a small podium just outside of the food tent area where you could buy lanyards. I know there are other places too.

We did the AP tasting lanyard last year, and are planning on using it again. Food items are the best use, especially poboys and gator bites (which were everyone's favorite in my family).

My daughter and I are doing the 10k, and were definitely glad that's the one we chose (it will be her first 10k, she was worried about that long of a distance, but liked the medal better, haha.)

Hey! I think I saw you from a distance, but it was right before the start of the race, so couldn't come and say hi. Were you wearing a pink top?

Slow and Steady wins the race... 300 to Boston in 5 years?

Well, I finished. But no BQ. Calf only held up to the halfway point, but I gutted it out slowly to the finish. I'll post a full recap later

Slow and Steady wins the race... 300 to Boston in 5 years?

Well, I'm here. Whatever was up with my hip, is back to normal, thankfully. The calf is still tight tho, so that along with the last two weeks of hit and miss training has me very uncertain about tomorrow. But I have my plan, and am following it until I have to change it.

Slow and Steady wins the race... 300 to Boston in 5 years?

I wish it were taper madness. But it returned last night, and is still there this morning, but more as a soreness than a sharp pain. At this point I am not going to run until Saturday, to give myself time to heal as much as possible, and hope its enough.

Slow and Steady wins the race... 300 to Boston in 5 years?

So went for an easy run at lunch, plan was to do an hour. 5 miles was a full loop, I planned to stop and get some water, and then stretch a little before finishing up with another 20 minutes or so. Felt pretty good, although my achilles started to ache a bit at the end... (I think the...

Morning all! Well, its here, marathon week for me. Calf is still healing, but should at least be good enough to give it a go on Saturday. Weather isn't exactly the greatest, rain is in the forecast. I had one long run in the rain this training cycle, and had to cut it short due to the chafing...

Slow and Steady wins the race... 300 to Boston in 5 years?

Saturday took the day off, as we had to drive to Charlotte and back for a soccer game (8.5 hours of driving for a 1.5 hour soccer game, at least they won 8-4). Didn't stop me from tweaking my calf when I stepped off a curb, ugh. Definitely going to have to be careful this last week... Or not...

Slow and Steady wins the race... 300 to Boston in 5 years?

Ended up doing the right thing, and not running yesterday. Walked 3.2 miles at a fast pace, and was a bit sore afterwards (importantly, not DURING), but some ibuprofen fixed that. Then did an hour on the elliptical last night. This morning, I felt even better than yesterday, so today it is...

Oh, and I didn't buy any running gear for myself on Black Friday, but I did buy my daughter a Vivoactive 3 ($100? Yes please) and a pair of Brooks Glycerins (how does she get nicer shoes than me I ask my wife).

Awesome! I hope to do the same! So today the tightness is the least it has been. I took another rest day yesterday, only a 1 mile walk in the morning, along with a lot of stretching and strength exercises throughout the day. I want to run today so bad... but I can still feel that little twinge.

ATTQOTD: I have never travelled for a race, this upcoming marathon will be the first. And my wife is coming with me. Also I am traveling next June to Yellowstone and doing the Yellowstone Half, and the whole family is going. If I make Boston, also my whole family will come... so yeah, no solo...

Slow and Steady wins the race... 300 to Boston in 5 years?

Did 25 minutes on the bike, 25 minutes on the elliptical, some plyometric exercises (hopping) along with a 1 and 2.5 mile walk. All with no pain during the actual exercise, however later last night some soreness developed and is still there to a lesser degree this morning. I'll rest it today...

Slow and Steady wins the race... 300 to Boston in 5 years?

Well, the good news is my calf is feeling much better today. No tenderness, and only a hint of tightness with mild stretching, and that is with no ibuprofen. With the speed at which it is healing, and the penalty for a relapse, I am not going to run until that tightness is gone (hopefully...
