What is the going rate for tipping for daily housekeeping services?

I usually do $5 daily. I have a stash of envelopes and cash in my suitcase at all times so I am prepared when I travel now.

    Yacht Club vs Hard Rock

Just do a whole Universal trip. I get wanting to go to your "Disney home" but go with an open mind to Universal. Odds are it costs a lot less and it is a really great resort. Add in the pool hopping option and you have the makings of a really great trip

Which is your fav and why...Beach Club or Contemporary

Epcot area, for sure. I want to stroll into the International Gateway just for food and drink. I don't feel the same desire to stroll into MK. Epcot is more my jam and I like swan or Dolphin because they are often hundreds of dollars less per night- same great location, great hotels, Bonvoy...

Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

"2) Is it worth getting Magic Bands if they can't be used to pay for items? We might purchase them on our first day (a non-park day for us) at Disney Springs because the online selection is lacking. If you don't use Magic Bands, what is the best option: a plastic card or your phone? Can you get...

    AOA or AS Movies?

AOA. Skyliner rocks. ASM- more chance of way too many school/sport/music...groups that can be annoying. ;) (traveled with them and have been one of them so I know what they can potentially be like- lots of youthful energy and noise ;))

Favorite section of Art of Animation for preschool boy???

I would say Cars. But, as stated, the theming is really great all over the area. There's just something about the cars area that is a bit extra. Now, for the sake of proximity, Nemo can't be beat. It's closest to the food court and the Skyliner. I prefer the smaller pools though at Little...

Explaining Genie+ and Lighting Lanes to my party?

The teens honestly might not care. The teens we travel with rarely use Genie+ and also didn't use FastPasses either. Just waited in line. They weren't in a rush and didn't really care about ride quantity. Just hanging out was good.

    Swan and Dolphin transportation.

6 of one, half dozen of the other to take the time to walk to YC/BC for their bus (which could be more than a 10 minute walk depending on where your room is) vs taking the bus from D/S and then riding the monorail or ferry on the other end. You might feel like it's faster to go on a direct bus...

Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

MCO is a mess. Unless you have TSA pre-check, I would plan to leave the hotel 3.5 hours before your flight. yes, 3 hours at the airport before a domestic flight is excessive but the airport lines can be so terrible. I'd much rather kill time at the airport than be stressed about missing my flight.

    Epcot- later arrival/ no genie+

Both Remy and Frozen broke down during our extra deluxe hotel night hours. It was a big bummer. I would plan to do any must-dos during your day and leave the night for bonus rides. I always get Genie+ so no help there.

Do I need park hoppers? Change my mind.

I'm totally pro-PH. Especially when staying at Swan. We do a park in the AM, chill at the hotel in the afternoon and then typically hit Epcot. As mentioned, if a festival is going on then you can find a lot of great food and drink at Epcot and not have to do a sit down meal.

    Wyndham Bonnet Creek vs Dolphin

"If it’s two adults, I’d go with the Dolphin. If it’s a large family, I’d go with a 2-bedroom at WBC." Agree with this. I loved Dolphin as a couples trip. Paired with park hoppers, we had a great time popping into Epcot to eat and drink each night or just enjoyed things over at the BoardWalk...

Skyliner From HS to EPCOT - How Long Does It Take?

Unless riding the Skyliner is its own appeal, I would just take the boat. The Skyliner doesn't go directly between HS and Epcot- you transfer at CBR, like mentioned above. I would budget 25 minutes if you decide to do the Skyliner though...which is pretty much the same amount of time for the...

    Should I use a TA?

I'm surprised to see so many pro-TA replies. This recent thread was pretty negative about using a TA due to lack of control of your reservation https://www.disboards.com/threads/overbooked-at-boardwalk-and-moved-barely-without-asking.3912958/page-7#post-64712351

Help me make the most of 1 day at Epcot

Buy Guardians ASAP if you fail at the 7am drop; it was gone in milliseconds on my last trip.. Rope Drop Frozen. Get a LL for Remy. If you can have 2 people working the app at 7am, I would put one in charge of Guardians and one in charge of Remy.

Family suite at AOA or ASMu?

Skyliner 100% tips the scale for me. Not having to deal with buses all the time is a wonderful thing- and the Skyliner is fun!

Pres. Day wknd- crowded on Friday?

Ugh. I didn't think of Mardi Gras. Thanks for that. I was there this year starting Wed. of Pres Day week and it was so, so busy (overlapped with a weekend race series too, so that didn't help). We're stuck with these dates so will make the best of it.
