Lost and Found sippy cups get thrown away?!

Yes, we learned of this policy when I accidentally left my son's pacifier on a restaurant table. Cups, bottles, pacis, etc., have to be thrown away because they are covered in kids' germs. They just can't hold on to that stuff, which is understandable. They told us we could get a replacement at...

Share your stories of being *That* family

Yes, we have been there! Despite our best planning and intentions, both of my kids have had meltdowns in the parks. The worst is when you're in a restaurant and just want to leave but can't because your meal isn't over (and you know half the reason they're upset is because they are hungry!) ...

7 day park tickets, which parks?!

First of all, you are NOT too early! You're smart to think about what days you'll be in which parks before you make other plans. Consider looking at crowd calendars to see which parks will have lower crowds on each day of your trip. There are several free options out there, but I pay for a...

    Booking 2 rooms

Sorry, I was confused. I'm team suite! If your teens really want to swim, they can check out the pools in the Cars or Little Mermaid sections. AOA is just such a fun resort! If it's not in your budget, book two rooms at Pop and take an evening to walk over to AOA and look around.

    Booking 2 rooms

So you have 7 total in your travel party? If that's the case, then I'm sorry, you won't fit in an AOA suite. The max is six people. You could do two Little Mermaid standard rooms. The Flippin' Fins pool is in that section, so you'd still be able to swim.

Weekend staycation - no parks - WWYD?

AKL but only with a savanna view. Sitting on the balcony with a coffee or glass of wine in hand is absolute relaxation.

    Evening Arrival with Magical Express

Yes, the bags will still get delivered up to four hours after your arrival. If going to the MK is a priority for you, then I would let ME take your checked bags. You can skip the baggage carousel, go straight to ME and drop your carry-ons at your room before heading to MK. The checked bags will...

The annoying things non-Disney people say...

My sister-in-law calls it "Magical Kingdom" and I cringe every time.

What is Walt Disney World doing right?

Diversity and inclusion stand out to me. Disney is somewhere that appeals to people from all over the world and from all walks of life. We love meeting cast members and guests from other states and other countries and sharing our common love of Disney. Also, their accommodations for disabilities...

Advice for upcoming trip with toddler (20 mo. old)

As someone who took a 20-month-old to WDW last year, I can say this: There is NO shame in putting your child on a leash. OK, "harness" might be the more acceptable term ... Still, my son had zero fear and would dart the second he was on the ground. We found a Mickey harness on Amazon and put it...

    Room Requests - Touring Plans

This feature is probably the only reason I keep my TP subscription now. We've gotten our exact request or VERY close every time. Pro tip: Use the additional notes section to further describe what you really want. For example on our last trip I said, "We'd love to be in Building 1 of the Cars...

What would be your preferred hotel with 2 under 4s

We stayed at AoA in August, and it was PERFECT for my kids. The littles will need naps, so having a separate bedroom where the kids can sleep in the afternoon is ideal. Then again, if you're staying deluxe, the adults can hang out on the balcony while the kids nap, which is what we did when we...

    Advice pls - 3 day+water vs 5 day

We went in August and upgraded to the Parkhopper Plus tickets so we could try the waterparks ... Honestly don't think we'll ever do that again. While they were fun, we weren't overly impressed. You're not missing out. You'll get way more out of the two extra park days!

Do resort stores sell distilled water?

For my in-laws, we ordered a gallon of distilled water through Amazon Prime Now. We also ordered some groceries for the week, so we met the minimum for free delivery. Something for you to look into.

Availability of Minnie Vans? Same as other Lyft/Uber drivers?

I think it's comparable to the wait for a regular Uber/Lyft/taxi. We always end up using Minnie Vans at least a handful of times during our vacation week because we need a car seat. I never noticed much of a wait EXCEPT during high-demand times such as early in the morning for breakfast...

DisneyWorld Resorts - which is best family resort for dining and recreation

Yes but they are the farthest from the main building and OP specifically mentioned utilizing the food court often. If she’s fine with walking, the Little Mermaid rooms would be fine. But the upgrade to a suite is worth it!

DisneyWorld Resorts - which is best family resort for dining and recreation

Art of Animation is technically a "value" but it doesn't feel like it! I know you don't need a suite, but our family loved the location and atmosphere at AoA. Also, the food court was excellent. I wasn't planning on eating at Landscape of Flavors so often, but the variety and quality of the food...

    Garden grill and motion sickness

My sister-in-law is prone to motion sickness and did complain about Garden Grill. She said she couldn't eat much and felt sick for a while after. I feel bad because I was the one who recommended it for her family! I would let your friend decide if they're willing to try it.

What to do on arrival and departure day!?!?

We've never arrived early enough to do parks on arrival, so no thoughts there. On our most recent trip, I left departure day open for packing and swimming at the resort, and I LOVED it. So much less stressful for the night before, when I've previously had to scramble to pack everything up for...
