Agreed. I think a lot a vloggers aren't willing to say anything negative about Disney because they don't want to lose access to media events, free cruises and whatever other perks they receive.
My kids enjoyed the kids clubs on MSC. Everything seemed a little more structured than DCL and since there weren't nearly as many kids, they received a lot more attention from the "CMs).
I had a similar experience with my TA (not DU) when I canceled my DCL cruise and wanted to book a different cruise line with them. I assume mine was commission related.
Try to book 8032, 8532, 8034 or 8534 if possible. They have a sideways layout so it feels much larger and the Murphy Bed is in the living room and not the Master Bedroom. They also have a triple wide verandah.
It's hard to beat the view from the SpringHill Suites San Diego Downtown/Bayfront. It's less than a 5 minute walk to the terminal.

You won't feel out of place at all. I wear flip-flops and shorts to every meal. Even on Formal Night, you're not going to see many men wearing suits and tuxes or women wearing elegant gowns.
Depending upon what time you board, your room might be available. We've left our backpacks and other carry on luggage in the Concierge Lounge during those times when our room wasn't available.
I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped the private meet and greet. It was sometimes very chaotic and time consuming on the other ships and with 30+ more Concierge rooms on the Wish, it will only be worse.
