Swan Reserve with two 17-year-olds ... what are the cons?

I think someone said that the SR is actually the closest hotel to the grotto pool. You do get length of stay for the dining reservations but some people report that their reservation comes unlinked from time to time. I'd recommend checking it the night before your ADR date to make sure...

What's something you didn't know you wanted until you got it?

A Bed Jet! I thought it was the weirdest gift my husband could have dreamed up, and it's so expensive, but there's nothing like getting into bed in the winter and having some hot air blowing on my feet. I can barely sleep without it on trips now.

United allowing families to sit together for free

I pay extra for "main cabin" as I think most airlines call the non-basic economy tickets now, and I don't even have kids; I just prefer to sit with my traveling party without having to stress over being available right when check-in opens to pick a seat. I would think that it's common sense...

Topolinos no longer allows more than one entree?

Isn't the high price here mostly about the character interactions? I don't think there was ever really an intent to serve every guest $45 worth of food. The portions at WDW tend to be huge in the first place so I imagine that there was a lot of food waste from people wanting to just try two...

Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

Does it seem like the points cost for rooms has skyrocketed since dynamic pricing was introduced? I'm hoping to go in late January next year, and while it's not available for booking yet, when I check random dates I'm seeing 252K points for 5 nights at any of the three resorts. I think in the...

Two more sleeps, what am I forgetting?

This happened to me on a weeklong work trip with PANTS. Of all the things to set aside and forget to pack! I ended up with only one set of work-appropriate bottoms for the entire trip, along with what I had worn on the plane. It was a long time ago and I was too embarrassed to tell anyone...

What perfume would you bring on your Disney trip?

A great tip is to buy a (small!) bottle of perfume at the start of a trip and then to use it for that trip to build the smell memory. Whenever you wear that fragrance again after coming home, it'll likely bring you right back to your trip. I think this is why people are so into the Disney...

    How can they fix ADR's?

I would imagine that from Disney's point of view, as long as the restaurant is sold out, there is no issue to be fixed. The relaxation of the cancellation policy hints to me that they're fine with having more same-day reservations and walk-ups so maybe there will actually be less focus on ADRs...

Sharing Tables at Counter Service Restaurants

If I were to ask to sit with strangers at a QS restaurant, it would only be because I already have my food and there is nowhere else to sit. If someone had empty room at their table and refused to allow me to sit there, I would honestly be shocked at the selfishness. Yes, we all want a break...

Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

I'm waiting for dates to open for my Feb 2023 stay on points and hoping I can sneak in before these changes are effective, depending on what day in March 2022 they're rolled out. Otherwise, it's widely viewed as a devaluation, especially for popular properties, which I imagine the Swolphin is. I...

    After Hours restart?

Any news on non-seasonal after hours events potentially restarting? We did the Animal Kingdom one on our last trip in 2018 and loved enjoying the park with no lines (we did see a few rats which was gross but not entirely surprising). It was a much better experience than the Christmas party at...

    Swan Reserve

I'm looking at January/February and wondering why the Reserve (542/night) is so much more expensive than the Swan (328) or Dolphin (287). Is it just because it's new? They are the same Marriott category so I didn't anticipate such a price difference, especially with the Reserve being a little...

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

Wanted to report back that we went to Volcano Bay today and had a fantastic time! We did everything we wanted to do and most lines were non existent. I think we ended up with the best weather day where it wasn't cold or hot, just perfect. Thank you to all the commenters here, everyone was so...

**Disney After Hours - Animal Kingdom** FAQ & Discussion Thread

I'm a little curious about when the media day will be and whether those attendees will count against the attendance cap. I vaguely remember crowd complaints on the DHS EMM media day but can't remember if it was the very first day. Here's hoping it's not the second!

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

The extended forecast for the day we wanted to go in early December is showing a high of 64, low of 45. We could potentially switch it to another day but it's only a couple degrees warmer. I know they close when it's too cold but I'm not sure what "too cold" means. I also know that it's...

**Disney After Hours - Animal Kingdom** FAQ & Discussion Thread

Booked for 12/12! We're doing HS EMM that day but figure we'll be finished at HS by 2 and have a dinner ADR at Boma at 5:10, so that's a good couple hours of downtime if we uber over to AKL. 12/13 is actually our main AK day but I have a feeling my plans for that day will shift around a lot...

    PPO GG....barely

I also have an 8:55 reservation at GG and would love confirmation on the above! I'll keep trying to move it earlier but no luck so far, and I don't want to be there so early if they won't let us in until 8:30 or later.

Do bad reviews make your dining decisions?

I look at the pictures more than I read the reviews. Tastes vary wildly, but the pictures can tell me if the Salmon Caesar comes with only a tiny portion of salmon, or if the sauce is a funky color not found in nature, or if the "weird" menu actually looks super appealing to my husband and I...

***OFFICIAL*** Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Spectacular & Dessert Party ***2019 JBJB Discussion Begins on Pg. 39***

Would it be reasonable to have a table service meal around 3pm and then the dessert party at 7pm? It's just us 2 adults so we'll manage either way but I'd prefer to be hungry and not yet HANGRY by the time it starts!

Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

We're thinking of catching a Monday night football game at Rix Sports Bar & Grill during our December stay and I haven't found out much about it online (other than it has a new menu which looks pretty good!). It accepts ADRs now--is that just more for the "grill" section and we wouldn't need...
