DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I use my wait time to go to first aid and do PT exercises that alleviate some of my pain. But a person with ADHD also needs a time to "reset" after a stimulating event, or find an outlet to use up some pent up energy. A person with heat/light sensitivity would only be able to meet your scenario...

Disney Stroller for 6 year old

Last (and first) time we used a stroller was when our youngest was 2 1/2. Oldest was 5 on that trip and did just fine. We always go at their pace. That one trip with a stroller was a pain. You can't take it anywhere, except in stores. The stores are so crowded it was a pain to be in there with...

How did the person with a boot on get from home to the parks in the first place?

If I need urgent care for an eye issue, which would you recommend near WDW?

I know you stated that you were staying offsite, but if you ever need urgent care while on Disney property, first aid will get you to the shuttle that takes you to one of the urgent cares nearby. They will also take you by ambulance to the ER! (Yes, two "rides" at Disney I hope I never have to...

In Memory Of The Columbine Victims

Rachel Scott's family (her father, for the most part) developed a school program called "Rachel's Challenge". It is designed to address the alienation some students feel, and while it is a bit on the religious side (she was very religious) when we had the program come to our school, it didn't...

Curious - why would they take the picture before your DM explained the need for DAS? If the answer had been no, then they would have the picture for no reason?

An adult threatened my 6 year old

People on the spectrum shouldn't be given a free pass when they speak about doing something violent, though. Stating that they are going to shove something down a child's throat is not a joke in any way or form. It is talking about assault. If that is the go-to for this person, there's a...

Such thing as a service to pick up my bags at MCO?

No one is supposed to take your luggage off the rack if you are not present - there could be someone there checking luggage receipts (only happened twice in years of flying for me) and they wouldn't have it and could get arrested. MDE could as the luggage was tagged specifically for that.

    MK Bus wheelchair/ECV at closing

I'm assuming you are talking about the queues at the parks, as the resort ones have the ramp access wait spot clearly outside the regular queue? If you are talking about the MK queue, I thought the gate to ramp area was before the front? I remember it being right after the last turn in the...

Awful Experience Registering for DAS Pass

I am an older adult, and have never had that experience when doing the online registration, but I'm not saying it doesn't happen. Did you contact Disney to let them know about the problem you had?

    DAS opinions please!

So it's not for stamina - it's for a medical condition that has nothing to do with stamina. That makes sense! Thank you for explaining.

If you could control the weather, what would the weather be where you are right now?

To everyone who said snow - you can take what we've got right now! It's April 4th and we've got a school delay because of the messy snow/wind. I'd love a sunny, 75'F day right now. Heck, even partly cloudy and 60'F would work!

slo’s THURSDAY 4/4 poll - Belvita Breakfast Biscuits

The chocolate crème filled one are my favorite! They went out of stock for months, but just got them back at my local BJ's. I bring them to work for a snack.

    Rollators in line queues.

She was fine - young and active, but she had broken her ankle. She did two trips on the knee scooter. The first trip she had some knee pain after a full day, and she did mention the different pavement textures were awful. The second trip she was fine as she had added padding on the seat. I...

Strollers in Line Due to Broken Tibia

What rides let kids stay in strollers? I can't think of a single one? I know there are wheelchair accessible vehicles, but they wouldn't be designed for strollers.

    Prosthesis and DAS

I think the issue is that you are counting mobility devices, while Disney is stating that if there is a mobility device that eliminates the problem of being in a standard queue then the guest needs to use that instead of DAS. So it's not that someone should only have to use one device; it's more...

    DAS opinions please!

I don't understand how DAS helps your husband with stamina - he still has to walk the whole LL queue, and he has to walk to find a seat somewhere (if there are any). I would think a mobility device would help him out a lot more than DAS would.

    Prosthesis and DAS

I thought Segways were still banned, as all mobility devices had to have at least 3 wheels on the ground at all times?
