    Sea roughness comparison question

This is nice to know that Alaska can be rough in the scheme of things. The captain came on and warned of rough seas telling everyone not to be bothered by all the noises the ship would make, how it's normal, etc. But I was worried he just meant "rough for Alaska" as the rest of the cruise had...

    Sea roughness comparison question

We just got back from our first ever cruise, Alaska. We loved it!! We did an OBB placeholder but have no idea what we would want to use it on. With the new itineraries being released I want to decide if we would enjoy any of those. When there was land on both sides of us the boat was calm. We...

    Carrying on alcohol

We may do that if we can find good craft beers in 12 oz cans in Vancouver. And if we can request glasses to drink from in room. Or do a combination, only packing 6 bottles and 12 cans may be easier than 18 glass bottles. It's good to have options.

    Carrying on alcohol

Thank you! That's good to know. A soft sided cooler was one option we had thought of but I guess that won't work.

    Carrying on alcohol

Thanks! What is their cooler policy? I haven't seen anything about coolers for DCL.

    Carrying on alcohol

Do you pad it some way? We prefer bottles over cans so I'm not picturing how to put 18 glass bottles in a suitcase and not have them break. I think we got a port arrival time of 12:30 so good to know the rooms will be ready not too much later.

    Carrying on alcohol

I have read the alcohol policy but I don't know the best way to execute it. How to people best physically carry the alcohol? We will have 3 adults so 3 6 packs of beer but also 3 small children. I see we don't have access to our room right away so I don't know the best way to tote around that...

    Reusable Straws

They don't have any straws available? I thought they'd have paper straws like Animal Kingdom has. I can't imagine running around with our own straws but I also can't imagine my toddler having an open glass with no straw at meals.

    First timer booking excursions questions

Thanks for the heads up. We have hiked MANY unlevel trails using carriers with various kids so the idea that it's not allowed even if done separately didn't cross my mind. I figured Disney doesn't allow young kids because there would inevitable be someone expecting to use a stroller for young...

    First timer booking excursions questions

No, we have a full day in Skagway. We just have a short day in Juneau and do Dawes Glacier that same afternoon. We are on the Sept 9 sailing.

    First timer booking excursions questions

How do I find out what companies Disney is using to book directly with them if it's booked up on DCL website? I have read that age requirements can be different if booked directly. I'm bummed on some things like a nature hike, it has age requirements. My toddler will be in a carrier so her...

    First timer booking excursions questions

Thank you! Whale watching is one we are concerned would be booked up. We want to do that out of Icy Straight if possible. The train is also on the list so hoping that had plenty of room!!

    First timer booking excursions questions

Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean by 'linked'. They both show up under my DCL login. My name is on one room, husband on the other. Is there anywhere I can find out what days the Frozen or Princess meets are ahead of booking time? Or are they every day of the cruise?

    First timer booking excursions questions

We are first time cruisers going to Alaska in Sept. Since our booking window is fast arriving I'm needing to iron out our plans for excursions and such. Is there a good post of tips for first timers? I feel so lost!! I know everyone who's ever sailed before has already booked. Does that mean...

    Hilton Head

Yes the front deck will give you a hidden Mickey check list if you ask. And a small prize for completing it. We had to ask for help on some, but the kids loved doing it this February.

Fares went down for all cats... tax and port fee refund?

Wait, you can pay with Disney Gift cards through Costco?! I thought I had to pay with a CC when using them.

    Hilton Head Birthday Cake?

I hope they have campfire that night as that is one of her favorite things there. Good to know Kroger is decent in a pinch. We typically aren't big fans of grocery store cakes, but something is better than no cake. I better call around soon if availability tends to be an issue.

    Hilton Head Birthday Cake?

How fun! I never tune into that channel so I didn't know they did that. Will have to mention it at check in and look for sure.

    Hilton Head Birthday Cake?

We will be celebrating a 7 yr old's birthday in a couple weeks at Hilton Head. In our excitement for the trip itself we totally spaced off looking into Birthday cake or treat ideas while there. So, any tips for delicious cakes not too far away? Something cute would be a nice bonus but yummy is...

    Disney's Riviera Resort Announcement

Well, at least we know they won't be hiding it in tiny print. They've made a handy chart to remind new buyers of all the reasons your timeshare won't sell as well in 10 years when you need to off load it.
