The possibility of scheduling DAS's first ride of the day at Guest Services

When we were at Animal Kingdom last month, my DS11 got his DAS at Guest Relations and we asked for a return time for Flights of Passage. The CM told us that FoP is on a different system and they couldn't give us a return time for that particular ride at Guest Relations, but they'd be happy to...

    Southwest disability question

If we decide to pre-board with Southwest, we just walk up to the desk at the gate and they print the special boarding pass for us. My son has autism and it actually helps us a lot to get him settled early, even though it means he's waiting a little longer. He does much better waiting in a seat...

    Nervous about asking for DAS

First of all, I think you are being perfectly reasonable. The DAS is an incredible chance to have a more successful trip, and Disney is all set up and eager to help your family have a magical stay. They take ASD very seriously and, in my experience, bend over backwards to accommodate needs...

Disability Access Card for newly turned 3 year old

Are you going to WDW or DLR? I am not sure if your son will still be in the system (but I would guess yes). Either way, you'll need to go to Guest Services with your whole group to renew it and attach it to his ticket and connect your group together. :-D

    DAS at HS?

As Sue said, people have reported both good and bad experiences at every park. That said, though, our very, very best guest services experience was at DHS. They were attentive and went out of their way to be kind to me and my son AND they saw a need that I hadn't seen, or at least hadn't...

An old newbie with questions. Sorry for length!

My son has similar issues to yours. We have also "surprised" him with Disney trips before, and we've been able to make it work by showing him lots and lots of YouTube videos in advance. There are many that show the experience from beginning to end--getting in line, waiting in line, boarding the...

    DLR DAS Questions

We have used a wheelchair tag for our double stroller many times without problem. That means that our disabled son gets the wheelchair he needs and his brother gets a free ride. It's the only stroller we had, so it's the one we used, and no one ever gave us a hard time for it.

    ASD and headphones

Definitely! My son with autism is super noise sensitive too. One day at WDW, he was sitting in his stroller, holding his ears desperately, so miserable. A CM saw us and offered us a package of soft spongey earplugs. They saved us! I didn't know how he would do with having them in his ears...

    DAS and DLR updates?

Should I expect to be turned down, then, if I ask to put all 8 of us on the DAS (with all eight of us present at guest services, of course)? I'm not complaining--just wondering. :) I just want to be as prepared as possible.

    DAS and DLR updates?

Hi everyone! Brand new here. I've spent the last few days reading and reading and reading through these posts as I prepare to take my family to DLR in a few months, including my 8 year old son who has autism and a severe anxiety disorder. SO much helpful info here! Thank you! We have been to...
