    Coast Guard evacuates woman

I very much doubt the reports that she got a transfusion while on board. No way DCL or anyone else is going to be transfusing unscreened blood products.

    Room change, dining the same?

If you have main dining and switch room categories it counts in the system as a new reservation (at least that was our experience) and if you do that and main dining is not currently available you will go to late dining and be waitlisted for main. If you are far enough out from your sailing that...

    Room change, dining the same?

You need to ask Disney when you go to make the change. I don't know how recent the previous poster's experiences are but when we moved one of our guests for an extended family trip from one room to another they were waitlisted for main dining. That wasn't a big deal since the remaining guests in...

Cruising in late February? Is it too cold

We're booked on that cruise and I'm not at all worried about it being too cold. But I'm from Canada so my perspective might be different. If you're from someplace warmer maybe it would be seem a bit chilly?

    Urgent post for tomorrow’s sailing

We've only done DCL transport from a Disney resort but who have you spoken to at the resort? If you have so far only spoken with the front desk/guest services, talk to Bell Services. They are usually the ones who are most informed about matters related to transport.

Can you take Vancouver skytrain to the port?

I walked this recently with my phone camera recording because someone in our cruise group wanted to check the accessibility of the walk. It was 5.5 minutes from the canada line to the port.

Vancouver. Best place to stay before cruise and transportation to ship.

For ease of getting to the port there is no comparison to the Pan Pacific. You don't even leave the building. The Fairmont Waterfront directly across the street is IMO a nicer, newer hotel and also very very close. For still very close but a bit cheaper, the Pinnacle on Hastings. If you're...

    Haven’t cruised since 2016; a few questions

We just got off the Wonder so our experience is very recent. Yes there is still evening turndown. We still got towel animals. There are still set dining times. Soda/juice etc is included (same exceptions as before apply). As for changes, they don't give you paper navigators anymore. I like the...

    Disney Wonder

Even our Vancouver to San Diego sailing sold out. I think at the end a cabin or two opened up but I’m pretty suprised it got so booked up.

Yes. Sold out cruises won't appear in a search.

    Disney Wonder

It's doing itineraries out of San Diego. We board the Wonder today! in Vancouver for the trip down to San Diego. Some people on our sailing are doing a B2B with the first Mexico cruise out of San Diego.

Looking for help with booking a cabin on the Wonder Deck 6 or 7?

We sailed the Wonder in 6099 for a 14 Night Panama cruise and I highly recommed the 6090s for room location. It's super super central on the ship, both vertically and horizontally. We felt close to everything.

Would you upgrade to Concierge for these reasons?

I wouldn't do it and here's why. A cabana is not going to be the be all and end all of your Castaway day and paying the extra for concierge won't guarantee you one anyway. Palo brunch isn;'t the be all and end all either and actually, with it being your first cruise, with younger children and a...

    Port Transfer for First Timers

Staying at a deluxe resort you will most likely get one of the earliest port arrival times and boarding groups if you book DCL transfers. If you have to select a PAT on your check in day you'll likely get a later time since the earlier ones will have been taken by platinum, gold and silver...

Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle or Fairmont Waterfront pre Alaska sailing?

The Pinnacle is usually a good bit cheaper than either the Pan Pacific or the Fairmont Waterfront. You can still easily walk to the port from the Pinnacle. It's a solid hotel.

    Talk me into door magnets

From a purely practical perspective, door magnets make it easier to find your stateroom in a vast hall of identical doors. You don't have to go crazy with it though. I've never ordered ours from a printing place. I get the images online, print them at home and laminate them then add a magnet...

Rescheduling a cruise one week before leaving

If you are really nervous, get the cancel for any reason travel insurance. They won't put the ship or passengers at risk. In the event of a hurricane they will either route the ship away from the storm, potentially skipping ports or even making it a cruise to nowhere with no port stops or if...

    Giving up on MDR food

I';ve never been on the Fantasy or Dream, just the Wish once and the Magic and Wonder a couple times and I have to say I found the whole MDR experience on the Wish to be pretty disappointing overall. The noise in Marvel made it hard to hear the servers, service was slow and the food was pretty...

    Royal Gatherings (Princesses) on Wish

Everyone actually has an equal chance at RG at 30 days. Silver, etc don't get to book sooner. What is different for newbies is that your check in opens at the same time. You DO NOT need to check in before you book RG and you shouldn't. Book RG first (found in onboard fun) then check in.

    Magicband Disney wonder

I would guess not until it's back in the US as it's been in Australia and New Zealand and won't be returning stateside until March. We're on the March Vancouver-San Diego repositioning and I suspect that we'll just miss Magicbands on the Wonder.
