Today (Saturday 9/4) it is crowded. Long waits for many things (Gringotts is 110 min at 2 pm). Full shows, and just general crowds in the streets. Makes sense, though. Holiday weekend and HHN.

We've been going to the parks since Monday (30th) and nearly every ride has been a complete walk on. The longest we waited for Hagrid's was 30 minutes. And we've had a couple walk ons on that, too! I expect crowds to pick up maybe today and tomorrow with the holiday weekend and HHN coming.

Is there an advantage to buying the APs ahead of time instead of just doing them at the desk in the hotel? We are going next week (YAY!) and have not purchased any yet. Also, I can buy them one day and not activate them until the next, right?

I'm super curious on this as well. Looks like the wait times for rides have dropped the last couple days - I am hoping the dining issues are proportionately better. Full disclosure - my interest is completely selfish in nature - I am going in a little less than two weeks :-)

I *think* they can do it on the second day without a problem. Years back, Universal let my family change our 5 day tickets to an annual pass MONTHS after we had used them. But I'm pretty sure they don't do that anymore.

We generally all take one each morning (though I get cheap generic meclizine on Amazon) and I feel it definitely helps. I still hate RRR, though :-p

I'm there next month as well (well, end of this month) and I'm hoping we have a decent experience. Normal progression says crowds should be diminishing quite a bit from this point forward so I'm hoping if it is a staff/guest ratio issue, there won't be and issue.
