    Canadian Rockies reviews?

Just a note: Tauck has changed some policies. No more dreamsavers. They are getting less flexible about changes. I was told changing ressies to another trip, even before PiF, would require approval. Never had that before. But Tauck still has way better customer service. The guides on...

So... I feel like I owe you guys a bit of an explanation. Maybe not, but anyways...

@sayhello I'm so glad you're feeling better about things and heading to NZ! Hobbiton sounds amazing! Hoping you still get to Portugal though. Maybe you and I are destined to finally meet in person on that trip in 2024? I'm probably doing that trip then.

    Changes to the Egypt Itinerary

Another note: Tauck's airport pick up and drop off is kinda more seamless than ABD, in my limited experience. My NOLA Tauck trip, I was arriving around 5:30 in the morning, but my plane actually got in at 4:50 (a miracle!). I was so afraid there'd be nobody there for me, as I had no way to...

    Changes to the Egypt Itinerary

Someone needs to tell ABD that Tauck would refund the internal flight money. They always refund if the price of the provided trip ends up being lower than the original itinerary. For example, I did a floatplane flightseeing in NOLA, and the group before us couldn't go due to weather. When...

ABD just cancelled my Portugal trip that's been sold out practically since opening day

I really want to do the Portugal ABD since it dropped. I had ressies for 2020, 2021, and 2022, all changed due to COVID and an unexpected work issue, I but can't even get on a date that works for 2023 because the dates that worked best were never opened because some corporate group booked it...

    France only ABD?

It was discontinued July 2018. I was on the last departure. It was a great itinerary.

ABD just cancelled my Portugal trip that's been sold out practically since opening day

I think you're missing the point that this isn't about ABD canceling. It's about ABD not providing reasons for cancelation or providing proper compensation so clients lose as little as possible due to cancelations beyond their control. There's zero reason for them not explaining the reason...

Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of starting in May 2023. EU requiring EITAS "visas" to visit any EU countries. It's an online process.

This has been delayed a few times before. So, hopefully, if they don't have their stuff together, they'll delay it again.

    London and Paris Dinners

You will eat at the hotels for meals as a group, so you won't want to follow this last piece of advice. The hotel restaurants are kinda meh anyhow, and overpriced. There's lots of great places near both the Landmark and Hilton Paris Opera. Most of these won't necessitate ressies, but you...

    Japan June 2022

Cool. You're just going to São Miguel? I'm hoping to one day see every island plus Maderia.

The first is supposed to be May 28th, afaik.

    Japan June 2022

Did you end up booking a trip to the Azores? I'm if Azorean descent, and my mom is a first generation immigrant from there. I've been and it's absolutely one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I hope you are going there since Japan didn't work. Everyone needs backup plans when...

    Portugal meets thread

I'm curious about this too. I backed out of my May 28th reservation. I suspect it won't go.

    Vaccination Update from ABD

I'd even check and see if you still have the same agreement when switching dates for the same trip. There could be language in the agreement that if you switch dates, you are subject to whatever the terms and conditions are for the new date. ABD might also reserve the right to change...

    Vaccination Update from ABD

Yes, this and some work schedule issues are why I've put off my ABD to 2023

    Vaccination Update from ABD

It's also a little weird that they chose until December 1st to get the deposit refund. Why not up to PIF? I'd have waited if that was the case.

    Vaccination Update from ABD

I just feel ABD isn't having enough trips run yet in Europe especially (at least to my knowledge). May just feels too soon for what I'm hoping for in my experience. It's a lot of money to get a trip I'm not perfectly satisfied with.

    Vaccination Update from ABD

The no penalty deposit refund is good to see. I'm taking advantage of it, and I'm going to get my deposit back for Portugal 2022. I don't feel like things will be quite stable enough for me, and work schedule changed so I'm getting a refund to rebook for 2023- here's hoping 3rd time's the charm

    Southern California and Disneyland Adventure

Well, if it's not officially canceled for Covid, the cancelation rules are probably more strict, so you are possibly correct. It likely means less refunds if they blame it on covid.
