    Copenhagen hotels pre-cruise

We stayed at the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel pre-cruise and enjoyed it. I will say Copenhagen was going through a heat wave and the hotel didn't have AC. It wasn't too bad except for the illegal party going on on the dock. The Danish police broke it up and we had a pleasant evening after that...

    Copenhagen hotels pre-cruise

we stayed at the Absalon post-cruise for three or four nights in August 2018. We enjoyed the room and the location was very near the train station.

    Copenhagen connection to other cities/countries

We did this trip last August (2018). We started in Amsterdam, so had to fly to Copenhagen from AMS. There are not too many other countries you can get to via ferry or train without a significant time commitment to get there. For example, we looked into traveling to Copenhagen from Amsterdam via...

Has anyone done back to back ABDs? Thinking Peru and Galapagos

That's great to hear! We are used to two weeks of vacation with lots of activities/touring. I think if we did Machu Picchu first and the Galapagos second, we'd be ok. With the new Egypt itinerary, we may be putting these plans on the back-burner for a while anyway. Thanks for all the input!

Has anyone done back to back ABDs? Thinking Peru and Galapagos

I was looking at the Nat Geo trip to the Land of the Ice Bears. And I ditto what @sayhello said. Drink lots of water, try to power through the first few days to get on the new schedule as soon as possible, take melatonin to help you sleep if you need to the first night or two and fresh air! You...

Has anyone done back to back ABDs? Thinking Peru and Galapagos

Yeah, I don't think we will go back to relaxing vacations any time soon! The family has chosen China, Peru/Galapagos, South Africa and the Arctic as our next four summer trips starting in 2021. Maybe once the kids are off at college I'll lay on a beach for a week!

Has anyone done back to back ABDs? Thinking Peru and Galapagos

Thanks for all the input everyone! I think, for now, we are going to start with a Christmas market Danube River cruise and then China. Even with the much longer travel time to China, we could add on a day or two at the beginning and end of the trip and still keep the trip to about two weeks/16...

Has anyone done back to back ABDs? Thinking Peru and Galapagos

I can understand it would be a lot, but we normally do two week trips in the summer. It's easier on my husband's job to schedule one longer trip rather than spreading them out. We did two weeks in Europe this summer (they were 7 and 9) and they were able to hang. We've got two weeks in...

Has anyone done back to back ABDs? Thinking Peru and Galapagos

So, originally I was looking at the Lindblad experience that did about a week in the Galapagos and about a week in Peru/Machu Picchu. However, I just started looking at the ABD offering and I'm wondering if anyone has attempted the two back to back? My kids would be maybe 10 and 12 when we...

When does ABD post future itineraries?

Thanks! We were considering the Christmas markets river cruise. Is it anything like DCL where you need to book on the first day itineraries are available? This is also good info because the China trip is VERY HIGH on our list of trips to do. THANK YOU!

When does ABD post future itineraries?

Hello! We are planning our first foray into ABD and I was wondering when ABD releases new dates? We've got a Greek Isles cruise booked with Disney in 2020, so I was looking at an ABD for December of 2021. Any idea of when they will be out? I'm so excited to take our first ABD and I feel like...

    2020 Watch??

The cruises come out, TOMORROW! Bet your bottom dollar that to-morr-ow there'll be fun Just thinking about to-morr-ow Scares away the boredom and the sor-row Till there's none When I'm stuck with a DAY That's Gray without a trip I just stick up my chin and grin And saaaaaaayyyyyyy The cruises...

Thinking about booking our first ABD vacation...

I've been reading the brochures for years and am super intrigued by an ABD vacation. We are most interested in the Christmas Danube river cruise and the China trip. But, I have a few questions for anyone who has done these trips: 1. How does booking work? Can I book online? 2. Are the trips...

    2020 Watch??

From your mouth to the Mouse's ears! I've got six families all eagerly waiting to book a Med cruise assuming it matches up with our school schedules.

    2020 Watch??

Oh, that's funny. We get our schedules over a year in advance. We already know our 2019-2020 schedule and will probably know our 2020-2021 schedule in the fall. We rarely shift from one year to the next. That's a bummer about your schedule. But, great alternative perspective!

    2020 Watch??

So, maybe I'm a mix? We like doing a big two-week summer trip every year, which normally includes multiple cities/countries and some decent coordination. And we've been lucky that we've been able to travel with family and friends too. However, I also like the spontaneous trips, but those...

    2020 Watch??

It's a great question! I've wondered the same thing. Since I teach, i know exactly when all my vacations will be, so I'm happy to give you my money now and for years if you would let me.

    2020 Watch??

My husband and I were set to tour Pompeii in 2008 when we had a family tragedy and had to return home immediately. Our kids will be 9 and 11 when we visit to complete the circle. Thanks for the support everyone! The weatherman just threatened us with three more wintry mixes/snowstorms in the...

    2020 Watch??

Yeah, I've been following the sticky and I've been through this rodeo multiple times waiting on release dates :) . I'm more just wishing out loud on a dreary, cold February day and dreaming of booking a cruise. February is the worst month of the year and booking a summer cruise would make it...

    2020 Watch??
