DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I’m not worried too much about the 10 minutes later wait after scanning. I normally did often choose another DAS while in the LL but it was more as a distraction of doing something to distract myself from everything while in the LL line. I’ll just scroll through Twitter or something. We’re not...

I know, I was really hoping for answers today. Hopefully they’re wrong.

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

Post from someone who registered this morning on Facebook. Take it for what it is, so just what they were told. Just reposting this here, not my experience. “Just registered this morning exactly at 7am (took 27 minutes start to finish) for my trip arriving on May 20th (Walt Disney World)...

Hearing the thing about reading off of a paper etc hits me personally as an autistic person. I have to write down my thoughts ahead of time to help me through the process as otherwise it’s like an inquisition to get me to coherently verbally explain anything. The anxiety of the situation of...

Awful Experience Registering for DAS Pass

Oh wow, I’m so sorry. I can feel your frustration in your telling of it! Yay for Mom! I’ve also been yelled at by CM before for taking too long or needing assistance or asking another question. It really sticks in my brain and unfortunately I can recall those instances like a movie in my brain...

Awful Experience Registering for DAS Pass

Just seeing this. I am also autistic and I have had to write down my issues with being able to stand in line. I just tell them I have wrote some things down as I have problems with verbal communication. I used this on my video chat this past Friday and it went good. Maybe also write things down...

2nd bad experience on Spaceship Earth

I think this is very reasonable to expect and I’m not sure what you yourself could have done beyond what you had expressed. Looking back you maybe could have stressed you would need to help and be pushed back down the ramp by a cast member at the time you were getting ready to ride. But I agree...

I also got the form. It had four days. I could have asked for more but I’d didn’t. Truthfully we rarely use them as the times we get are so random and don’t work for us a lot. I almost didn’t do them this time but I’d already been waiting so long.

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I was within my 30 days today so I did the video chat for DAS. The wait from start to finishing everything was 2 1/2 hours. The focus was still on why you cannot wait in line like I had answered before. There were more specific questions and I did feel like they were carefully considering my...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I’m going the week before this is implemented. I’ll be at 30 days tomorrow. I might not do the chat/video call tomorrow as it seems that the site might be getting a lot of traffic just from questions. Also, it’s normally taken me hours so I need to dedicate a day to the laptop sitting by me. So...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I’m autistic. I don’t fly much by choice as airplanes are total heck for me. But I had to last year. Airports I have to have someone with me and I use the TSA cares to have assistance and help through the security and to my gate. I avoid large crowds, have grocery pickup or delivery to avoid the...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I’ve said it before but why announce this like this and cause all this stress and chaos. They should have it all worked out, all the FAQ on the site, and announced how this will all work. It’s ridiculous this large of a company announces something as important as disability accommodation changes...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

Don’t know. I will say there are a lot of us autistic kids who have now aged into autistic adults and from personal experience the world doesn’t really know what to do with us much less Disney. Services for autistic adults are rare and hard to get. So I guess to answer your question, I hope not...

DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

In the TikTok link I posted last night, https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLU1bQcv/ Amy from Touringplans visited MK and talked to guest services about the changes. Some of the answers she received were interesting. They said they were serious about the developmental disabilities requirement. Another...
