    My ADR week (staying offsite)

No replies (which is fine... my post was boring ;) ) but as an update, I could not get Sci-Fi at 180 days, but did get an ADR for 50s Prime Time (which we've eaten at the last 2 trips). I had to call both T-Rex and Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' directly, but I got the times I wanted.

Biergarten or Via Napoli for family dinner at World Showcase?

For my picky eater we went with Via Napoli (no dining plan). It was also more budget friendly as we could split the pizza and also order appetizers.

    My ADR week (staying offsite)

ADRs are so much easier to do when you're staying at a Disney resort! I much prefer the 180+10 for ADRs. But I did get what I wanted for my EPCOT day on 8/31.... so far so good! Our family goal is to have dinners at different restaurants than prior trips. Last trips we've dined at LeCellier...

    Favorite cs salads?

Thanks. Disney is great with that - we ate at Yak and Yeti and the chef came out and spoke to me (a LOT of dishes there have cilantro).

    Favorite cs salads?

Do you remember/know if that had Cilantro in it? I'm allergic but otherwise the salad looks great and our plan for our MK days is QS dinners only.

Labor Day late this year - thoughts on few days before?

We're going that week (not staying onsite, though). Arriving very late on 8/29 and flying back on 9/5. The only day I'm a bit concerned about re: crowds is Friday 9/4. We'll hit up AK that day - ending our trip at my son's favorite park. And we went the week before Labor Day in 2018 and...

    ADRs in Disney Springs

Can I still call at 180 days if I call the restaurants directly?

    ADRs in Disney Springs

I have a few weeks before my ADR dates (no plus 10 for me, since I'm staying off property) and two of the 4 table service dinners we want are in Disney Springs. T-Rex (for our son, who REALLY wants to go and we promised him we'd take him) and Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' (my choice and my...

    The Adams are doing Disney!

My advice would be read the posts here - you'll get a feel for things. And another piece of advice is to be flexible - the best plans may not always come to fruition. I've had trips both on site and off site -- both have been magical. The main negative to off site, IMO, is the the 30 day fast...

    *** Official August 2020 thread ***

After my last trip (August 2018) I said we'd never go back in August again... my son had heat exhaustion and we lost a day of our trip. Well... we're going back this August. LOL! Though most of the trip is in September. ;) We're arriving very late on 8/29 and will be in the parks 8/30 to 9/4...

    Getting Water Bottles thru Security

Question: do the frigs in standard rooms have a freezer? I was under the impression that they did not... but if they do, I'd use that trick to freezing water bottles.

Changing up Itinerary 5 weeks out

Thanks. We're at 19 days out now... no more tweaks -- though I'm hoping to move up the Tower of Terror FP time.

    Disney or Universal First?!

We're doing Universal first -- our first time there -- in 3 weeks. Two nights at Portofino Bay (with a 2 day park-to-park ticket) and then 6 nights at the Polynesian (with 5 day park hoppers). We're actually planning to spend longer days at Universal, so we figured doing that first was best...

TOURINGPLANS.COM - August Crowd Levels Reduced By 2 Digits!!!!

I'm not a subscriber, so I can't see it for the last week of August. Can you share what the estimated crowd levels are for 8/26-8/30? Thanks.

Is it just me or is MDE more broken than usual lately?

You're not alone.... I'm 24 days out and hadn't received any shipment notification for my magic bands. They weren't showing up on MDE (since late January - even before my 180) and I'd called IT several times. They assured me the customization was OK and that they'd ship out. Well, I called...

    >> Resort Grocery Delivery FAQ <<

I'm an Amazon Prime member and am leaning towards ordering bottled water and some snacks for my son -- no alcohol. So if no alcohol, it can be delivered to Bell Services?

    New BOG Dinner Menu

I agree... the adult menu looks OK to me -- I actually like more of the choices now and $55 per adult for an appetizer, entree and dessert doesn't seem too far off base price-wise. But the kids menu seems quite overpriced at $35 and the two appetizers -- iceberg wedge salad and a fruit & cheese...

New Hollywood Studios bus loop to open soon!

Great.... we're staying at the Poly the last week of August and hearing long bus waits -- and now walks too -- doesn't make me happy. :(

    Country Bears

My son has never seen the Country Bears... last trip (May 2015) we were waiting to be seated when the cast members asked everyone to leave. Apparently the attraction broke down.

May 2019.... what week would be best?

Another vote for the earlier week... most schools are still in session so the crowds won't be as high as late May, when schools in the South get out. Though I've gone the first week of May three times now -- and all 3 of those trips the weather was unseasonably HOT. I went with my late mom...
