Made the Easter Pie. It smells amazing, but I erred on the side of caution and filled it too much rather than have it be not enough, so the vents split open on top:
Live and learn. It's still setting up nicely and just needs to be refrigerated until tomorrow before we can try it.
I tend to stick around the Community Board unless I'm planning a trip, in which case I might check out the other boards just to see what's new and read for good tips. Honestly, I've been to WDW so often now that I sort of don't need to read the other boards, and I like the 'bad kids in detention...
Oh, I'm using ready-made pie crusts. This is my first time making this (my late Uncle always made it) and I've never made pie crust from scratch before. Don't want to complicate things more than they already are, and make myself even more nervous about how it's going to turn out!:scared1:
Besides the ricotta cheese, our family's version of Easter Pie uses 8 ounces of cubed Swiss cheese and a pound of fresh mozzarella. Seems to work well.
My Mom's set was a gift from my grandmother. I remember the sets coming every month, and how excited we were to look at the cards. Each month you'd get a few cards for the different categories. I don't remember if my mother had the completed set, but I think she did. She was not the world's best...
I'm medicated on the 'dole'...er, I have a life. You might think I sit around collecting money while on the 'dole' and popping my meds, but that's *really* not so.
@LuvOrlando ...I'll say this as a liberal. The Controversial Board is chock full of us. We don't get but a few conservative...
I'm definitely picture #2. I tend to get up early, usually I'm the first one up in my house. However, I'm not exactly a chirpy happy squirrel in the morning. I need coffee and quiet while I fully wake up and decide how I'm feeling.
I usually make a ham and macaroni and potato salad to serve cold, but this year we're not doing anything special. Easter Week, I'll be making Easter Pie, which is a savory pie made with ricotta cheese and bulk sausage.
