To Go or Not to Go, That is the Question... updated 1/15

More plans.... I had all sorts of good intentions to keep updating this PTR, but you know, life. My daughter had the flu, my husband had kidney stones, and we lost my dear sweet kitty at the age of 17. Disney got put to the back burner for a bit, but I'm getting back into planning mode. As of...

To Go or Not to Go, That is the Question... updated 1/15

Is the Trip for Real Yet?? So, we have decided we want to go, but we need to get to Florida. I’d rather drive, but we just don’t have that much time, unless we wanted to drive straight through without stopping. And that’s just not going to happen. Just after Christmas we were stuck inside...

To Go or Not to Go, That is the Question... updated 1/15

Hi everyone, this is my first PTR! I've planned to do them in the past but never got around to it. I'm mostly a lurker on the boards, but I've learned so much here that I decided to make the time to do the report for this trip! We're headed to the World in 92 days! Our Backstory: Who we are-...

    Stroller regrets?

Hi everyone, planning a trip for April and we're undecided about a stroller. Kids will be 9 and 7, but both are on the small side. I was all set not to rent a double for this trip as we have on our last 2 trips, but then I thought about back packs and water bottles and everything else. A single...

Need Advice: What is Disney like with all 3 generations on the trip?

Sounds like our family trips, the last one was DH & I (38,39) Kids 7 & 5, my sister and brother, 33 & 31, and my parents (both 66, 1 active and 1 with limited mobility and all sorts of health issues). Our first trip everyone stuck together like glue. The 2nd trip I made it clear to everyone that...

    Double stroller tips and opinions

We rented from Orlando stroller rentals, a side by side, but I don't remember the specific model. Our kids were 5 & 3 the first time, 7 & 5 the second trip. We went with the side by side so they could talk to eachother. We never used a double at home and I was worried about how hard to maneuver...

Stroller Rental - any real life experiences?

We used Orlando stroller rentals twice. I picked them over the other ones because I had a link in an email. :) The services seem pretty similar between the companies and renting one was perfect. I was so happy that we did it.

Elderly in July Heat @ Disney... Bad Idea?

We went with my parents who are in their late 60s. My mom is active, but my Dad has limited mobility and a lot of health issues. We went in August and it was a challenge. Taking a break every day was an absolute must. It's hard, but not impossible as long as you're able to slow down and take...

Star Tours for 6 year old

My son was 5 on our first trip and he loved it. He wanted to go on over and over. He's a big Star Wars fan. It's not objectively scary, but I can see how it could be scary both from the jerky motion and the visuals. Its hard to predict since the ride is different every time. Some versions are...

Money saving tips you don't have to think about?

Thanks--I was thinking I had missed something. I just got my SW card in March and I only got the card with 20000 points & the lower fee. Oh well...

Money saving tips you don't have to think about?

$2000=$734 in airfare? Is that on a Southwest card? I've been using mine & paying off, and I have a lot of points, but when I'm looking at tickets with dollars vs. points I don't think my points are near that dollar amount. Am I missing something?

Please help me regarding deciding to stay onsite vs offsite

I stayed onsite for the first time in 1996 and swore I would never stay offsite again--but this trip we have kids for the first time and when I priced it all out staying onsite just made no sense. My DS has LT food allergies so I need some kind of kitchen space. We wanted to do AoA family suite...
