Better to do Private VIP tour at the beginning, middle or toward the end of trip?

I don't think it really matters when you do it. There are arguments to be made for different scenarios. That being said, I normally plan on it towards the middle of longer trips and end of shorter trips. Our last tour we did midway through a two week trip, as that was the day we had all of...

Share Positive Experiences with Current Crowd Levels

I have traveled for years with children during the busiest times of the year. We go for Christmas week every year. Yes, the fact we go often means we don't have to worry about this being our only trip and missing out on something - but my kids still have Must Do's on their list. There are...

    Random DisneyWorld advice

Don't be a pack horse. Opinions vary on this, but I am not a fan of hauling half the world around in a backpack. Save up to have enough $$ to cover the occasional bottle of water or drink the free water offered, etc.

Uber with a 6 yr old, booster seat?

You can also request a Disney Owned "MinnieVan" via Lyft. They are better at having the right safety equipment for rides and in better condition than many of your normal drivers.

$30,000 trip....what’s the best deal to maximize payment??

If you already have an airline or hotel miles card I would put it on that. That is what we normally do with our larger purchases. That way we can fly for free or stay at the Hilton for free. Might not be the best of the best deal out there, but it's the easiest thing to do to get a little...

    Droid Depot or Savi's Workshop?

Like some others have said, I would suggest the droid building for children. Savi's is a wonderful experience and I really enjoyed it - but at the end of the day once the experience is over you are left with a display piece light saber. While the droid building experience wasn't as "special"...

    Thanksgiving or spring break?

I would go with whatever works best into your schedule. I know for me, Thanksgiving week I get two days off from work and spring break I have to take all five days as vacation - so if I was strapped for vacation days I would go with Thanksgiving.

    Misson: Space, Orange or Green?

Personally I don't do either side, medicated or not. Definitely would not do the orange side. I'd suggest trying the green side with the older child and then depending on how you two do send the younger child. My kids don't even get motion sickness but I am not interested in sending them on...

    Pregnant at Disney

As the others have mentioned there is a lot to do at every park when you are pregnant. It might be different things from what you have done on past trips but still days worth of activities. You might even find out you have been missing out on a lot of fun activities you never tried before.

Anyone having second thoughts about a trip due to Coronavirus?

Actually that could potentially be good / better news. If over 100,000 people have been infected and only 1000 have died (saying that number being reported is correct) that gives you much lower mortality rate.

    Homecomin v Morimoto v Jaleo

They are very different types of foods. Jose Andres is my favorite chef and I love all of his restaurants, so I would put Jaleo first. Then I would probably go with Morimoto followed by Homecomin'. It isn't that I don't like Homecomin' but the type of food they serve there (Southern Comfort)...

Considering Club Level FP+ program, critique my plans

I understand the VIP tour would be a lot more than what you are looking at with CL FP+. I have actually done both and just want to throw out that the VIP tour would allow you to ride all of the rides you have planned in one day. They won't suggest "wasting time" on shows like FOTLK, but you...

    1 day thoughts

Let them go and have fun. Tons of people go every year and have a blast without all of the planning. Sure it makes life easier if you plan, but it isn't the end of the world if you go last minute like others have mentioned. And I wouldn't suggest that they do non park things like mini golf or...

    Resort break alternatives

You can also book ADRs in the middle of the heat and enjoy a nice meal. We don't normally go back to the resort during the day - even in the heat of summer. But we spend time at indoor attractions - like the Carousel of Progress and have ADRs during the day.

An entire trip with no pre-trip ADRs?

I just got back from a no ADRs made ahead of time weekend. It helped that we are only a party of two when I decided to make a few reservations. We were able to make next day reservations for the two places DD wanted - SciFi and San Angel Inn. For spring break I have made one ADR per day and...

    O'hana breakfast

Ohana is actually one of our favorite breakfasts. There is something on the plate of food that everyone in our family enjoys. The kids bizarrely eat more of it than when we go to a traditional buffet and the character interaction is some of the best in the World, IMO.

Ages of your kids for Stroller use?

I agree with most of the previous posters. Unless there is a medical necessity, your age ranges are waaaaay above when we stopped using strollers. We stopped at the 4/5 age range. Haven't used one since. The "younger batch" of kids are 9 & 11. Other than the fact they are too big, if I told...

Must do top 5 Universal and Disney

I think there are different ways to look at it. Are you into thrill rides or nostalgia ... nostalgia plays a big part for us at WDW ... so while Spaceship Earth may not be thrilling, we can't pass through Epcot without a ride. We do Universal less often ... went for the first time in three...

    VIP tour and tipping.

I've been in multiple discussion on this ... as others have stated there really is no "standard" amount. Depending on the season the 1 hour / 20% can vary drastically as well. I have heard of others going with $50 per person when in larger groups. $300 seems to be a good middle ground ...

Creative Solutions For Older Kids Who Need To (but don't want to) Share a Bed on Vacation

When I was growing up my brother and I slept with the same gendered parent most of the time. It kept up from fighting in the bed. Now DH and I have three kids, so depending on the hotel, the twins will sleep together and one of us may share a bed with our son (he is the youngest). We have...
