Luggage Arrival Time out of Port Everglades

Last week luggage arrived AFTER main dining. We also didn’t actually leave port until 6:15, so maybe everything was delayed.

POG / Orchard’s Best on the Fantasy?

Not on the Dream last week.

    Port Everglades boarding and PAT

Yup - lunch was closed by the time we got onboard.

    Port Everglades boarding and PAT

Nope - we actually left port at 6:15 and I suspect it was because they took FOREVER getting people checked in and onboard. Once you got through check in you walked right on - boarding groups were absolutely meaningless. Its the horrible design plan and sketchy technology that bottleneck the...

How do things work when there are two different Castaway levels in same stateroom?

Just did this with my son. Grampa was surprised to hear that Nana wasn’t in his room but kiddo was 🤣. Only thing here is to make sure the right adults have all necessary permissions. Got forbid grandpa actually be in charge of kiddo getting on or off the ship!

DCL Onboard Restricted Items Policy Updates: Decorations, Ducks and Ashes and More

Just got off the Dream this morning. We did not hide ducks or do FE or anything other than a couple of magnets with our names on them (makes it easier for parents with a touch of dementia to find our staterooms!) We’ve enjoyed FE when my son was younger. My son did find 10 ducks (actually more...

Still sitting in port at 6:15…

Just now leaving Port Everglades and it’s 6:15. Anyone know why? They’re not giving out any information onboard. We watched two other cruises leave between 4:00 and 4:30 so I assume it’s a Disney thing and not a Port Everglades thing.

    Port Everglades boarding and PAT

Finally got inside. Another set of lines inside. The iPads aren’t working or are slow. They weren’t able to complete our check in and sent us to a second line. Meanwhile this is the inside of the terminal. Absolutely empty…

    Port Everglades boarding and PAT

Update #2: They have half as many check in counters here as at Port Canaveral. They simply cannot manage the volume of passengers for the Dream.

    Port Everglades boarding and PAT

Here now - so wanted to provide an update. They clearly have NO IDEA what they are doing. Arrived at 1:30 - admittedly early for our 2:15 and 2:30 PAT. We are platinum, but checked in late. First they sent us across the parking garage to go stand in lines arranged by PAT. The earliest line...

A twist! Literally TWO painful twists!

Are you non weight bearing on the broken side? If so, I would reschedule. You won’t even be able to get in and out of the shower on the ship 🤷‍♀️. I’ve used a knee scooter for weeks - in airports (you can gate check it for free), hotels, other cities etc. I would not use one on a ship. Too...

    Port Everglades boarding and PAT

We arrive tomorrow so changing hotels is not a viable option. Fortunately mobility is not an issue.

    Port Everglades boarding and PAT

Thanks for this! Super helpful. We are at the Courtyard Ft Lauderdale Downtown. I will probably stay close to the hotel so we can stash our bags with bell services, have lunch, then grab the bags and Uber from the hotel to the Port. Google maps says it’s an 11 minute drive 🤷‍♀️

    Port Everglades boarding and PAT

Cruising out of Ft Lauderdale next week. Due to communication and photo issues with senior parents located in a different country I didn’t manage to get everyone checked in as early as I would have hoped and our PAT are the latest I have ever had (I am Platinum and we got 2:30). (As an aside...

    Kids Club Age Change

My kid is older and was bored to tears in Oceaneers for our last several cruises to the point he hadn’t gone at all. He’ll be at Edge next week. Again - they can’t please everyone. This policy is in line with other cruise lines. The age ranges need to make sense from a developmental and safety...

Cruising through Ft Lauderdale help, please.

Realize this is an older post but wanted to ask if folks generally keep their lights up for a bit? We’re on the Jan 2nd cruise, flying in on the 1st and this sounds like a fun thing to do on our evening in Ft Lauderdale.

    Kids Club Age Change

I love this change. Our kiddo got COMPLETELY TRAMPELLED by older children running around when he was at the young end of the Oceaneer spectrum. There should never have been such a large age range in there. In fact - it didn’t used to be that way. They increased the Oceaneer age range years ago...

Do you charge family and friends?

I do not charge, but absolutely acknowledge that I am privileged to be able to afford that. We have regularly invited friends or my parents and booked a two bedroom so we could all go together. It’s more fun for me that way. My friends usually try to pay for things like groceries or dinner as...

Is Paying for Additional Housekeeping an Option?

Has anyone requested additional housekeeping recently? Have friends staying in the second bedroom of our suite for a few days then halfway thru the week that family leaves and my parents arrive. We did this exact thing in 2019 and it was easy peasy to schedule full services and fresh sheets on...
