8 hour drive for a short trip?

We live about 5 hours away and prefer the shorter trips. My kids prefer a 3 night trip like you described over a week-long theme park trip. We usually keep it to a day or two in the parks and leave time for the hotel pool, Disney Springs, etc.

    Kid Friendly Dining

My kids - 13, 8, 6 - really like Minion Cafe and Cowfish. The HP options are fun, but our experience has been that they are more crowded and thus take longer. We’ve stayed at Royal Pacific twice but never actually eaten there…we would probably eat at the pool, weather permitting, if it worked...

Fun things to do with preschoolers outside Disney World

Crayola Experience and Orlando Science Center have been top picks for my kids. We prefer to do something like this earlier this earlier in the day to allow time at the room before heading to dinner.

    Room question

As another posted noted, the EP is associated with the hotel reservation. Everyone on the hotel reservation will get a personalized key card that is both their room key and EP. You can absolutely book one night at a premier hotel for the EP in addition to whatever package you already have...

Which Marriott MVC for most resort-like feel plus Disney & Uni?

We’ve stayed at Marriott Harbour Lake twice, it’s literally across the road from Cypress Harbour. We did SeaWorld from here once and it’s right up the street. Not sure how old your kids are, but HL has more kid-friendly water play areas. Great if your kids are those ages, maybe not so much if...

Walk from Holiday Inn Express after Howl O Scream?

We stayed in that area last year at the Springhill Suites and walked to SW one morning, then to Aquatica, and back to the hotel. The downside of this is that those hotels look close to the park, but are the complete opposite side from the main gate. The walk was doable At the start but...

    Christmas/holiday themed activites

We did a Thanksgiving trip two years ago with all these things and loved it! Did a day at SW, plus a day at Gaylord on the ice slopes and then the GKTW event that night.

    Disney mini golf

We’ve played both sides of Winter Summerland (different trips). It’s a cute course and we probably spent about an hour there each time.

Best park for indoor attractions for toddlers without genie+

Adding my vote for EPCOT. Lots of indoor play area/games that seem to be under the radar. You can enter through the exit areas to access these areas without even riding the rides. My kids also like world showcase, since there is plenty to just look at. It’s not all indoors, but you can pop into...

3 wheel stroller or 4? We are leaving in September and I need to get a stroller for a 5 year old. Any thoughts on 3 vs 4 wheels?

This is a pretty broad question…are you thinking of 3 wheels as in a jogging stroller with bike tires or something smaller? Are you flying or driving? Planning to buy, borrow, or rent? We drive and take a stroller with us. Our larger BOB jogger is much easier to push, but larger in the parks...

AK Wilderness Explorers - Possible in One Day?

I thought you could pick up books at other stations too, but on our last visit they told us we had to go to the main station. Probably depends on the day and who you ask. If you are going multiple days, I would definitely pick up a book on the first day, even if you wait until another day to do...

AK Wilderness Explorers - Possible in One Day?

I’d agree on 5-10 mins at most. But you do have to go back to the bridge where you first go into the park from the Oasis. So if you are already in the park and have to go back, maybe some reviewers are adding this time on? The main WE station opened at 10 am on our last trip, I believe the...

AK Wilderness Explorers - Possible in One Day?

As PP mentioned, it is possible if that is all you do in the park that day. Also, be aware that the WE stations do not stay open for the full park day. We’ve done it twice with our kids and found it challenging to even find all the stations in the first place. Be sure to ask for help finding them.

    Legoland worth it for adults?

I would lean more on the kiddie side, but if you are big Lego fans you might enjoy a day at the park. Have you seen any of the Lego movies? If I were sans kids, I would probably hit Coasterasaurus, Flying School, Masters of Flight and the Techno rides. The Dragon isn’t a crazy coaster, but the...

    Legoland questions

Breakfast used to be by reservation, but is no longer. It is first come-first served. You may want to arrive early to avoid long waits at peak times. For the refillable mug, you can activate additional days at a time. I’m not aware of a way to buy multiple days at once. Peppa Pig is...

Favorite Disney Check children's meals at counter service restaurants for adults?

I sometimes order a QS kid meal for myself, although I don’t know of a way to see them all without viewing individual menus. At AK, Satu’li Canteen has several kid’s bowls that are good. For resort breakfast I go for a kids portion of Mickey waffles because I don’t need to eat a whole pile of...

    Mid-July heat

I’ve been during early May and late July…July is definitely much hotter. I only live a few hours from WDW, so I’m fairly used to the weather, but July was still difficult. I’ve always thought the weather in early May was quite nice in the parks. That said, if you decide to go, we also find a...

    Magic band + falling off?

I purchased some additional “loops” on Amazon to use with ours. Basically like the extra piece on a watch or belt that you use to secure the excess. We have the basic MB and mine comes undone occasionally, but my kids are worse about theirs. I found them helpful especially for the kids.

    Hidey bag for stoller

I have tried several bags in our strollers over the years, and also once tried locking my bag to the stroller as suggested above. Most of these proved to be a bigger hassle than they were worth, either by being difficult to access during the day or causing us to spend extra time going through...

Star Wars rides at HS and your 6 year old

My 5 year old did all the SW rides on our trip this last fall. He likes SW though. You know your kids best though - he’s a bit more adventurous than MDS, who typically is more afraid of things. With our kids, I’ve found it helpful to read ride descriptions or even watch a ride-through video...
