    Golf carts and bikes

A golf cart is not necessary, certainly nice to have but gets a little pricy the longer your there. The first time we rented a golf cart it was just for a few days during the middle of our stay. We wanted to give it a whirl to see how much we really enjoyed and more to the point, how much we...

    Rv Backing up

My recommendation would be for YOU to back the RV up for your dad! you could practice before arriving and just go slow.. have a good spotter... and go slow... Once you get the rig turning its real smooth. just go slow. Try to get there early during week with less folks coming and going... I...

Maximum Number of Guests Reduced For The Fort Campsites

I have not seen any big parties in the Premium or premium meadows sites... but on a golf cart tour I did notice big or semi big parties in the full hookup or tent areas. Not sure reducing occupants from 10 to 8 would help much because these parties seem to take up an entire loop but i suppose...

Camper rental thread got me wondering…

I read somewhere or perhaps simply heard someone mention that fort wilderness has some of the toughest spots to back your rig into. I can only remember 1 time that i backed my 5th wheel into my Fort spot on the first try! Most of the time its the vehicles, trees, posts directly across from my...

    Do you cat nap?

Frequently. Not every day but 3 or 4 times a week but only for about 20 - 25 minutes.

Camper rental thread got me wondering…

I have seen a few carry a golf cart in the bed of a truck being toed by a Class A, usually a DP. One of the motivation to get into a Class A vs a 5th Wheel was getting rid of the BF Truck.. i love a big truck but the gas mileage as a daily driver is a killer.

Camper rental thread got me wondering…

If you spend more time at the fort vs a park and wander around a lot like we do when we are at the Fort, a Golf Cart is almost a necessity. I have one on my wish list but i have to solve the issue of getting it to the Fort 1st. Hard to do with a non Toy Hauler 5th Wheel. For the record, my next...

    MB+ and the dreaded 'gate'

The gate is hit or miss and it seems to pick a side at the beginning. If it doesn't work the first day, it never works our entire stay. if it does work the first day, it works the rest of our stay. Regardless, i never minded waiting for the guard to come open the gate for me. Some of those...

    Cabins in Loop 100?

Are we the only ones thinking a DVC at the cabins would be a great option when having family/friends/guests vacation with us that wont fit in the RV? Are we the only one who can't afford that option without selling the RV? :(

    Best full hook-up loop

We have always stayed at premium Meadows sites.. it helps reduce the need of a golf cart, although we got a golf cart for our entire stay last Aug. We stayed at 1400 in Aug and it was nice and an easy walk to the campfire area with Chip and Dale. 1200 was nice and secluded and not a bad walk...

30 day stay!! Color me Jealous! We planned and reserved a 30 day stay at the Fort way back in Sep of '22 but in the end had to trim it back to 2 weeks. :( Work keeps getting in the way, once i am fully retired, i hope to make 30 day stays at the fort a standard at least once a year.

    Tent Camping in January

Seems like i ran the heater at least one night last Jan at the Fort. I would expect you would need at least a small heater just in case.
