    The Disneyland Hotel Superthread

Yes we did this last year. It was easy. We called the porter and they came and picked up our luggage from our room in DLH and dropped it into our room at GCH after we checked in. Totally easy.

    Board Game Suggestions for Family/Teens

We have quite a few of the games mentioned. One that we love is Tokaido. It has two expansion packs: Matsuri and Crossroads which add further elements to the game. Labyrinth (by Ravensberger) is my favourite family game. Simple, but so much fun!

Split stays at DLH and GC

Do you guys tip for this service? Do they drop your bags in the room or do you have to pick them up when checking in to the GCH? We are doing a split stay soon between DLH and GCH.

    The Disneyland Hotel Superthread

Hi, does the DLH do anything fun or Halloween-centric on Halloween? We have missed out on party tickets for the evening and we are hoping to do something fun. We are Australian, so looking for something great as we don't celebrate Halloween much here. Thanks.

Suburb near Anaheim to Trick or Treat in for Aussies?

Hi, the children have decided that instead of attending the Oogie Boogie Bash, they would like to experience a 'real' American Halloween in a 'real' suburb. Halloween in Australia is a very, very small affair or non-existent. Would anyone please share some great suburbs we could Uber to for the...

How much do you spend on vacations?

We spend between 10% and 20% of our yearly income, after tax. We do own everything though, including our home, and have no loans or debt. That is for 2 adults and 2 children and we normally travel overseas for 4+ weeks per year. Last year was Italy for 9 weeks, this year the USA for 5 weeks...

    Pixie dust opportunities

What a wonderful thread. Our children have given away their balloons before. We live in Australia so cannot take them on the plane. Each child has chosen a child on our last day and gone up with me and asked if they would like it. After the balloon bringing so much joy, then the gifting...

    Disneyland Hotel question

I would change hotels. We don't find concierge level value for money at DL as we prefer to eat in the parks. We love all the hotels though, but GCH is our favourite.

Third party booking sites for flights?

I would go direct, or at least take it into a travel agent and see if they will match it. There was a third party (best jet I think) that went bust 12 months or so ago and many people lost a lot of money. Keep an eye on the sites, check daily and clear your cookies or check in a private window...

Come out, come out of Lurk-dom!

It is very quiet in the Australian section. We are off again in October/November and looking very forward to seeing the Star Wars theming! After that it will be 2022 (eek!!!) as the in between years we have other plans...

    Grand Californian Super Thread

HI, we have stayed at GCH 5 years ago (it takes us a bit longer to get there from Australia) and we have booked to be back there for Halloween. We are staying for a week and leave in early November, do they put up the Christmas tree immediately after Halloween or is there a break between them...

    Anyone planning for 2020 yet??

We are now planning 2020 as well. We were planning for 2019 but with DL opening Star Wars Land we have decided to leave it for a year and go then. We will be there in the Summer so not at WDW, just DL. But is it the 65th anniversary of DL that year? Arrrrgh...what to do? LOL

    Kids' souvenir budget

When we travel, 3-4 months out from when we leave our children have the option to put their $5 weekly allowance in the "mummy bank'. This means that each week they choose this (which is every week as they are pretty savvy LOL) I write a balance of $5/10/15/20 etc in a notebook and they sign it...

Back to Disney after 6 years...this time it will be DLR for New Years Eve 2018!

I would definitely hire a car and drive to Santa Barbara. It's a beautiful place and we have been there twice. The food is yummy and there is a tiny taco place in a shed (I will find the name if you are interested) that sells the most delicious food!...especially for us Aussies whose Mexican...
