The Adventures of The Traveling Fire Pit

Campinfam, the pit and a bundle of wood (we bought three bundles but didn't use it all) will be at site 1454, probably sitting to the side of their pavement. Have a great time!

The Adventures of The Traveling Fire Pit

Campinfam, the fire pit is here at site 1446. I wanted to clarify if you will be getting into camp Friday the 30th or Saturday the 31st, as we are now leaving very early in the AM on the 31st. If you won't be here until the 31st, I will find a neighbor willing to let it hang out at their site on...

The Adventures of The Traveling Fire Pit

We would like to host the TFP March 25-31 this year! It looks like tiggerdad has March 10-17, but I don't see host for the week in between us (17th-25th). I bet someone is out there!

Universal & Volcano during Hurricane Irma, tips for making the best of it?

Well we might actually make it to Orlando on Wednesday. Universal will be up and running tomorrow, and our airline (Frontier) says Tuesday flights are limited but our Wednesday morning trip is a go. I'll believe it when we take off, but I am getting more optimistic now that MCO is actually...

Universal & Volcano during Hurricane Irma, tips for making the best of it?

I agree. I made the deposit for our back up dates at Portofino Bay today. Haven't switched the flights though, because getting refundable flights would have been an extra $225 (vs just using the hurricane policy to switch the current flights). Think I'll decide that first thing tomorrow...

Universal & Volcano during Hurricane Irma, tips for making the best of it?

And it seems impossible to predict right now. Sounds like maybe losing/getting back electricity is the biggest risk. I'm mostly afraid that if we wait, and find out Tuesday night that operations are not back to normal, at that point the flights and hotel rooms I am hoping to re-schedule to...

    Hurricane question

Our trip is the same dates but we are flying in from Ohio. I'm trying to decide if we should reschedule right now. It sounds like they didn't honor your original hotel room rates?

Universal & Volcano during Hurricane Irma, tips for making the best of it?

Also, right now our airline is reporting that MCO is hoping to have "limited operations" on Tuesday. In that case, what is the likelyhood that they'll be back to normal Wednesday? I hate the uncertainty and am debating rescheduling now just to have it all settled.

Universal & Volcano during Hurricane Irma, tips for making the best of it?

Does anyone know if they are honoring your previous hotel rate if you have to reschedule because of Irma? There is hotel availability for when I want to reschedule, but the room cost is almost $90 more/night. I am planning on calling myself, but want to hear other's experiences.

Do I Need an EP for September?

Yeah. We did go ahead and book the night in RPR. The trade off is that we have a family suite at CB, and only a regular double queen at RPR. I will miss the little kitchenette and extra space/privacy at CB for sure. The EP is really the only reason to pay extra, and it seems 50/50 if we will...

    Reliable ground transportation to/from MCO

It would be great if UberX is available, since it is the cheapest option.

    Reliable ground transportation to/from MCO

That's not exactly true. Per the Uber website: Dropoffs at MCO: If you plan on taking an Uber to Orlando International Airport, choose from uberX, uberXL, UberFAMILY, or UberSELECT. Pickups at MCO: When leaving the airport, you can choose between UberSELECT or UberFAMILY...

Do I Need an EP for September?

I'm with you, I cannot stand in a long line. In all the times we've been to Disney, I've trip planned well enough (thanks to easywdw mostly) that we ride all the rides but never stand in anything longer than a 20-25 minute line. And than includes a week at the end of June. But given that...
