    Rope dropping Figment

Words that have never been uttered... Haha, but seriously. My mom and I are going for a quick trip to WDW next week, and I thought it would be fun to rope drop Figment for a change! We just went to the world in December so we're not necessarily itching to do any of the big-ticket rides (except...

Fee for modifying ADR time the day of?

So, we're at AK now and had an ADR for Tusker House at 7:30. The park is soooo busy that we figured we would change our ADR time to one sooner -- that way we could get out of here and go somewhere else. Anyway, I went in the app, clicked on my existing 7:30 ADR, and modified it to be at 4:50...

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Just a quick comment: We're here now and while the hotel lobby is absolutely stunning, we are completely underwhelmed by our room in Jambo house and by the savannas. We bought a standard room. There's this weird chiming sound coming from the ceiling, it is tiny, and doesn't get too cool. Nothing...

"Official" 2018 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Holiday Magic

Just wanted to make a little post about our first MVMCP last night. We got there at 3:00pm and immediately got in line. They opened the "gates" so-to-speak at 3:45pm. We got our wrist bands and headed to the laugh floor where we waited for about 10 minutes to see the show. (Also, we followed the...

"Official" 2018 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Holiday Magic

Oh mannn you guys have me nervous! We're going to the 12/16 party. Good thing, I guess, that our only goals for the evening are to make it to our Crystal Palace ADR, do Jingle Cruise, and watch the parade and fireworks. I think we can pull it off even with a sold out party. Fingers crossed at least!

"Official" 2018 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Holiday Magic

Just wanted to update: the touring plans reservation finder worked! We found a 4:40pm ADR for Crystal Palace on Dec. 16th (thank you to whoever cancelled it!!!). It's our favorite place to eat in MK, and now we get to go there before the party! Whoo! Our next goal is to see the parade. I hear...

    Disney Restaurant Food Poll

San Angel Inn all the way! We thought is was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is incredible. The tables are packed a bit tight, but that didn't matter too much to us. We also loved Tusker House and getting to meet Mickey and friends.

"Official" 2018 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Holiday Magic

Sigh... My family and I really want to eat at the Crystal Palace before our party on Dec. 16th. I didn't think it would be so hard to grab a 4:00-4:30 dinner there on a party day. I've been looking for an ADR for the past month!! And I'm using the touring plans reservation finder. No luck so far...

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Worth the money ?

I haven't been to a MVMCP but what convinced me to buy tickets for this year is the Christmas themed parade and just general atmosphere. If Christmas is your favorite holiday, I think you'll enjoy it! If you're "meh" about Christmas, then skip it. Most of the rides should be open, but I...

Best Dining Plan Non-signature use for 1 Table service Credit

I would personally do Tusker House at AKL. It was so delicious, and you get to meet Mickey and friends in their cute costumes.

Animal Kingdom Lodge - Should I be concerned...

Whew. Thanks so much! Here I was freaking out a little, wondering if we should bring the blow-up mattress just in case. haha

Is the Grand Floridian Cafe any good?

Oh guys! This so good to hear! I'm glad we got the reservation now and I'm feeling much more confident about it.

Animal Kingdom Lodge - Should I be concerned...

About getting two queen beds in a standard view room? When I booked, the only option available was "2 queens or 1 king." It didn't let me specify that I need 2 queens because there's 4 adults in the room and a king just won't cut it. Should I call and make sure this is added as a special...

Is the Grand Floridian Cafe any good?

Hey guys. So we've got an ADR for Grand Floridian Cafe this December on the night we get to Orlando. (We'll be staying offsite for one night and then moving to AKL for three) We don't have park tickets for this day, so we were thinking a hotel restaurant, of course. Is the GF Cafe any good? The...

Is the Halloween party worth it?

Maybe we just had a bad one-time experience, but we hated MNSSHP. We're not huge Halloween lovers in the first place, but we were excited to trick or treat and ride rides. Well, it rained for about 2 minutes and that was enough to shut down every single ride in the park. Even POTC and Space...

When do you stop tinkering with the plans?

I stop tinkering a week or so before. By then I'm pretty confident in what I've done, and we're not commando park tourers, so plans really just consist of FP and ADRs. But I have GOT to say: 4 weeks, 4 families?!? I AM SO JEALOUS! You're gonna have an absolute blast!

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Oh that's great! Thanks for the info! We like to charge to room and then pay cash. It feels safer than bringing all the cash (or even some of it) to the parks and still let's you set a "self-limit" on how much you spend. Edit: huh. Quote didn't work this time. Probably because I'm on my phone...

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Ugh. Cashless? That's dumb... but thanks for the warning. I was about to head to AKL this December with cash to pay off the room charges! Oops

I said we would never do it but ......

Never stayed at AoA but have stayed deluxe vs value. I don't get the big deal tbh. How much time do you really spend in your hotel room? It's just a place to sleep for my family and as long as the beds are comfortable and clean, it works for us.

Here now Sept 11-22 with 4 year old and baby

Huh, weird. We just got back 9/9 - 9/14 and thought the weather was great! Didn't seem too hot most of the time, and there was always a good breeze. Plus it only rained for like five minutes the whole time we were there (although that did ruin MNSSHP imo).
