First-time Concierge: Looking for advice on the Wish

Worth it - not in my opinion although I have only done it once - and it wasn't really an upcharge because we were scheduled to be on the cancelled inaugural wish cruise and just used the money we got for that to pay for it. Shoreside did email me. There really was nothing I needed/wanted so...

Is it possible to get DIS transportation from a pre-cruise hotel without staying at that hotel? For an earlier PAT.

Years ago I walked from the Shades of Green to the Polynesian and got DCL transportation. I think when I made the reservation I just asked to be picked up at the Polynesian, don't really recall. You don't have to leave your luggage outside of your room you can bring it with you.

    Fort Lauderdale Flight Times

They are waiting to fill the busses. 9:00 gives everyone a chance to get breakfast and not rush to get off the ship. If you want to get there earlier - as many have indicated there a bunch of different ways.

Travel Agency Perks: What is Normal?

I think I received on board credit once and it wasn't on a Disney cruise. Have made reservations on my own and with a TA and the price doesn't change. What does change is the TA's ability to manage changes etc when I don't have the time. I just have never expected anything I guess.

Missing Luggage Tags - Pop to Cruise Transfer

If you have enough luggage tags for your cabin (what you need) it really doesn't matter who's name is on which bag. On our upcoming cruise there is no luggage tag for our grandson. We will just use one of ours or get the folks at the port to make one for him.

Transatlantic Westbound 2024--on Halloween, trick or treating?

Didn't even think about it being a Halloween cruise. Just knew it left on my birthday - and that was the draw for me :)

Disney Cruise Line Updates Castaway Club Membership Requirements

Guess I don't understand what all the fuss is. Most loyalty programs have a finite use it or lose paradigm and DCL is just moving to it. I am just shy of Pearl after this year but have no idea if I will ever sail Disney again or not - I have other travel plans and I am further along in my...

    Concierge Question

17 cruises under my belt, 1 concierge (Past October), 3 more planned in 2024 that are not concierge. I didn't find it worth the extra expense and so won't be spending that money again. YMMV

    Magic Band Shipment Delayed

you do realize that FedEx and UPS both ship to HUBS then reroute from HUBS. This is a time of the year where almost nothing travels quickly - I am sorry you are having an issue but there are many solutions to your problem.

How long is one lap on the Magic deck 4?

I am equally annoyed by runners that don't move over when walkers are trying to pass as well. The route is relatively narrow, even where it isn't. This is not a place to set running and/or walking records of any kind. Be kind all the way around.

Military Retiree Discount (Active and Reserve/NG)

I do think it sucks that honorably discharged veterans are not afforded the Military rates. I was not given a choice on whether I could retire or not when I was forced out with 13 years of service due to the military drawdown. That said all the other cruise lines that I sail on happily take my...

    Longer cruises from Galveston?

My favorite cruise out of Galveston was one that went to Key West and WDW. A one day park hopper was included in the price and we managed to hit all of them for a limited amount of time. Busses left Port Canaveral around 8:00 am and the last bus came back to the ship around midnight (as I...

    DCL vs. Royal Caribbean

Went on the Allure of the Seas this past summer. Group ranged in age from 6 to 60s. There were 12 of us. We were in Central Park balcony rooms (6 of them because it was cheaper to put two people into a room). Ate in the MDR every night. Our servers were great, the food just ok. My...

Just back from my first RC cruise - comparison to Disney

We were on the Allure of the seas in early July and agree that the MDR food left a lot to be desired (although I didn't starve) but the wait staff went overboard to insure that our time there was pleasant and so that somewhat made up for the almost inedible food on most nights. The teens spent...

Brilliance Alaska Inside Passage Vancouver - 1st timer to RC and Alaska

I won't be doing RCL again for a variety of reasons! Too big mainly. We were on the Allure. The kids by the end of the week were ready to go back to Carnival. Me I have 3 Disney cruises and an upcoming Carnival cruise before we sail with the kids again :) The dining room was fine, our...
