    Booking Placeholders in Navigator app

Just saw this update today for Android. I wonder if it'll allow guests to use gift cards to book the placeholder, or if it's similar to parks mobile order and only allows credit card. I also wonder how immediate it is. Like if you wanted to maximize the placeholder and book it on your way out...

    Cove Cafe Mobile Ordering

I know they've been testing it for a couple of months. Looks to be live now. I assume it still charges to your room. Wonder how the punch card would come into play with this, although it would be one way to combat the reuse of the card.

    Disney Visa for onboard charges

I'm guessing any unused funds gets refunded? I'll have some onboard credit, will they use those first before any amount I add to my account? I wondered how they knew. Last time, the CMs in the stores asked me if I was a cardholder, but I didn't have the card on file...I had it with me, but...

    Stealing from stateroom doors

I haven't had anything stolen off of our doors yet, but I also don't put anything I'm really attached to on there either. As for FE, I have no real way to tell if anything has been stolen out of them since I don't know what all gets left for us. I have, however, found trash like candy wrappers...

    Disney Visa for onboard charges

How are onboard charges processed with the Disney Visa? I know you get the 10% discount on merch, but does it get processed as travel and you get the 0% interest for 6 months also? Also, the terms state: Since everything is charged onto the onboard account, although I have seen them accept...

    Southwest Flights Open

I had the opposite luck. I missed out on opening day prices and couldn't buy for a couple of months after that due to allocating money towards another trip at the time, and the prices skyrocketed. Everything I've looked at since the grounding of the Max8s have been much higher than usual.

DCL to get rid of Placeholder Booking Perks?

I'd like to think it was, but I'm lead to believe it's not specific to the Wonder, but more of a company-wide norm. When I contacted DCL about the issue I had onboard, I got a very brief email simply letting me know it was being escalated. None of the frontline CMs attempted to touch my email...

DCL to get rid of Placeholder Booking Perks?

Honestly, the thing I am most irked about is service. I would be fine with all these "little" things going away if the CMs were still being well taken care of, happy, and in return, provided superior service to guests. Good service, provided by humans should cost a premium, and I'm happy to pay...

DCL to get rid of Placeholder Booking Perks?

Oh, I'm not surprised in the least. Cuts have been Disney's M.O. for a long while now: in the parks, even in screened entertainment. It's not news, but am I disappointed? Yep. Psychologically speaking, people can at least semi-justify the price increases by saying, "well, at least I'd get $200...

DCL to get rid of Placeholder Booking Perks?

I take that to mean the credit only applied if you booked onboard, and not via any other channel such as online, over the phone, or through a TA, and not necessarily contingent on booking an actual sailing vs placeholder. I could be wrong though.

DCL to get rid of Placeholder Booking Perks?

That would cover Palo for 2. Or an excursion in some cases. It's significant enough for me, especially considering they do increase prices very regularly. My upcoming 4 night is the same cost as the 7 night I took last year. And since I'm booked on a "special" cruise, the discount is blacked...

DCL to get rid of Placeholder Booking Perks?

Scott's reported it as well: https://disneycruiselineblog.com/2019/09/disney-cruise-lines-revised-onboard-booking-promotion-no-longer-includes-onboard-credits/

    Navigator app and cheap phones...

I have it installed on a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android Marshmallow (v6.1, and the device is no longer supported, so OS can't be updated) and it works fine. I just read a comment on Scott's blog saying they couldn't get the current version of the app to run on a S4, so whatever you go with...

I was scammed before my cruise

Tourist scams are SUPER common every where. Anytime they can make an extra buck, they can. I get that you didn't want to waste time filing a complaint, (though I would've at least snapped a pic of his taxi number and deal with it when I got home) but I would've considered those extra few bucks...

    Country Inn @ Port Canaveral

Perfect. Thanks, all! I guess I just expect a parking fee with hotels now since so many do charge, with even WDW resorts charging for parking now. It's always a pleasant surprise on the occasions that I encounter no parking fees.

    Country Inn @ Port Canaveral

That's a possibility. I remember before they changed and revamped their website, it said it was $10/day, but that info isn't on there any more. I find it hard to believe they don't have a parking fee at all, and it would be odd to charge a week for a night or 2.

    Country Inn @ Port Canaveral

Has anyone stayed at the Country Inn @ Port Canaveral recently? Do you by any chance know what the daily parking rate is? They recently changed their website and I cannot find anything on daily parking fee. I could have sworn the old site said it was $10/day for parking, but now all I'm able...

    Restaurant rec MCO - PC

Thank you! Yeah, in looking at the map, there isn't much between MCO and PC. I don't mind driving west, out of the way a bit, but maybe not clear the way to Tampa or anything lol.

Changing cruise, opening day 2021, Costco

Costco is a call center, so you'll get a different agent pretty much every time, but they all have been well versed, friendly, patient, and helpful. They don't specialize in DCL but do know quite a bit. If they're not sure, they'll call DCL with you on the line, to ask. I wouldn't say they're a...

Changing cruise, opening day 2021, Costco

Yep, easy peasy. Just give Costco a call. Their phone lines open exactly the same time as DCL's phone lines do so it works out well. They're well versed in opening day procedures, so they know what's up. They'll take down your phone # to call you back in case you get disconnected, and will...
