    Mother’s Day project at church

Since it's going to be publicly shown and "forever", I'd avoid anything too embarrassing or depressing... Since it's Church-related, I'd probably ask a question related to how your Church community has helped them on their path as moms...

Who Pays? A Going Out To Dinner Question….

Here's the thing...if you don't ask for separate checks at the time of order, it becomes a huge pain in the behind for the waitstaff at many places to do it later. So, if you think there is a chance you want to do separate checks, you'll want to ask at the order time, and that's where the "no...

    DAS changes coming WDW

It's 120 days or the end date of your ticket media, whichever date comes FIRST. So, APs and other non-dated tickets would get 120 days, but folks on set tickets that expire (like a 7 day PH) will have their pass expire at the end of the final ticket use.

    DAS changes coming WDW

If approved for DAS, you will likely be at a max of 4 for your party, all-inclusive. So, yes, part of your traveling party will not be included on the DAS and you will have to adapt under Disney's new stated policy.

    DAS changes coming WDW

I think what you mean to say is that if a non-DAS accommodation will STILL work for some people/types of disabilities, they will offer that. Nothing will work BETTER than DAS, but it doesn't need to. For the law, it just needs to be reasonable and work "enough".

This goes back to my "greater scrutiny on developmental disabilities in adults" is probably coming.

No, they can't cure the disability, but almost every major medical site has stated that through treatment, the symptoms of the disease can be mitigated for many as they age, so it's no guarantee that a disabled autistic child will need the same services as a disabled autistic adult. Some...

Who Pays? A Going Out To Dinner Question….

I'd just ask for separate family checks when the waiter takes your order. It's what I do when my friends and I triple couples date - it works SO well to not have hard feelings when everyone knows they are just paying and tipping for themselves. PS - We are already handling 2 of the 3 couples...

    DAS changes coming WDW

As far as Universal's current policy, I'm sure they are watching Disney closely this summer, and will be adjusting based on how Disney's new plan is received and implemented, prior to opening their big new park in 2025. AKA - They may also be accumulating all their data for a slam dunk case...

    DAS changes coming WDW

If these are official, holy crap...they really wanted a slam dunk legal case to destroy DAS...

Yes, being one, allergy folks are usually highly restricted on menus and occassionally can't even eat certain courses. But you still pay the same price if it's prix fixe, buffet, or character meal. No discount for the lack of usage.

    DAS changes coming WDW

In the end, legally, Disney does not need to make sure every person on the planet can ride their rides and enter their theme park. They just need to do what is reasonable for every person on the planet to ride their rides and enter their theme park. If it requires heroic, expensive efforts on...

I am assuming that will be the accommodation for all competent single and 2 person adult parties.

It may be, unless the developmental disability is severe.

    DAS changes coming WDW

Yes, this I agree with...they wanted an absolute slam dunk legal case before they made a big swap b/c they know it's always coming.

Sure they do - parents with a baby are routinely in a queue alone, and then rider-swapping. Disney won't let the 2 parents just jump ahead together b/c they have a 6 month old.

    DAS changes coming WDW

Every party will now do a full standby every time vs going LL to LL. For example... Party A DAS - 6 people 2 rides with 1 hour stand by waits (and LL waits of 15 min) - Party A makes reservation at gate at 9am Arrives at ride 1 at 9:10am and enters LL Rides as a full group and gets off at...

    DAS changes coming WDW

This was an answer to a non-disabled poster who asked how he and his disabled mom would work rider swap when he never wanted to ride without her b/c he's sick of most rides. He would likely not have to actually enter a ride vehicle and ride if he waited through the line and then spoke to the CM...

Then you could go through the line, and step out at the load area, letting the CM know you prefer to head to the exit and re-enter LL with your mom.
