I have always had to show either my dependent ID card, or my husband had to show his retired ID. We have always been asked for it. Others will tell you that they have never shown their ID. From my personal experience though, I would say they cannot use it later.

It is a Military Resort, similar to Shades of Green at WDW and for me, more affordable.
