    Ticket question

Yay! They are telling my sister that she’s wrong which is very much upsetting her. She’s been dvc since 2001, 10yrs before I joined, and a regular. I’m upset for her.

    Ticket question

I just started booking my park days today and noticed my no expire tickets was missing a day (I have a 10 day no expire, and used one day back in 2016 or 2017). MDE had it at 8 days left. WHAT??? I should have 9 days still!!! I called today and was told we used one day last June 25th. Yes, we...

Did you stay onsite before buying?

Almost bought akl sight unseen bc it sounded “cool” but bought bwv instead (and stayed at the inn before buying). So glad we did- We stayed at AKL Kidani once and never again. We were unhappy with pretty much the whole 5 days (in a 2bdrm, too). We switched over to BWV and let out a high sigh...

Honest Opinions on Renting DVC Points

I re-booked the room, then ultimately re-rented the points at a small loss for my renter bc of COVID. As an owner, I think it’s just a nice thing to do. Do unto others….

Honest Opinions on Renting DVC Points

Here’s an idea :)…. Buy dvc points (resale or direct) as your wedding present to yourself! You obviously love Disney! My friend did that for his wedding- he bought enough points to host his family for his wedding 13 yrs ago (I missed it bc I was pretty preggie). He still has most (maybe not...

Funny- timeshare “specialist” said my brother’s SSR contract is only worth about $75pp

Thank you! My brother should go to me, who will then go to disboards, for all timeshare questions going forward!! That was his mistake.... j/k Personally, I'm thinking about getting a hilton myrtle beach timeshare bc it's drivable for us. Granted, it's 10 hours with traffic right now, and...

Funny- timeshare “specialist” said my brother’s SSR contract is only worth about $75pp

I’m jesting with my brother- he said his wife will divorce him if he sells his dvc. I’m the one who convinced him to purchase dvc (his wife has wanted dvc for years). I provided him with a spreadsheet with savings calculations- I think he bought 3-4 yrs ago resale for $95pp before the...

Funny- timeshare “specialist” said my brother’s SSR contract is only worth about $75pp

He said it was a resale Hilton timeshare that gives him a 2bd during high season-- maintenance is $1500/year and he paid $3k for the property. Shrug. I don't know what that means. He has FOUR children ages 2-12, so he can't stay in a hotel room, and I guess timeshares is the way to go for...

Poll: For those of you who have owned DVC greater than 5 years, do you plan to stay long term or sell?

We bought in 2011 and 2013. We always say we are going to sell when they hike up ticket price but then.... we go back to disney, our grade school children talk about disney all the time, and so we will keep for another 5 years or more....

Disgruntled members: What are the DVC-specific issues?

I’m just annoyed the ticket prices keep going up up up. And no more AP’s… At least I locked in my hotel prices. I’m being told BWV and BLT studios are going for $650/night now direct from Disney. Ouch.
