Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, and Guardians of the Galaxy

This. I'm not into super thriller roller coasters, but I was okay with EE, except for the backwards in the dark part. But I just closed my eyes for that, which made it quite tolerable. Same with FoP. My husband has a mild aversion to heights, and he will close his eyes for the hard downward...

Talk to me about dessert viewing parties.... worth it?

I'm admittedly taller than that by several inches, but I don't think you'll have any problem. The castle is elevated from where you're standing, and you can see it and the projections over people's heads. The annoying thing is if someone right in front of you puts a child on their...

Talk to me about dessert viewing parties.... worth it?

If you look at the 11th post on this thread, from dizneyfamof4, there's a picture of the view of the castle from the Tomorrowland Terrace. You can see that you're at quite an angle from the castle, which is partially obscured by trees and bushes. I haven't watched the show from there, but I...

Talk to me about dessert viewing parties.... worth it?

It's true that the viewing area isn't exactly wide open - but it's nothing like the jammed in, shoulder to shoulder masses outside. When we've entered the viewing area before the fireworks, most people are sitting or sprawled out on the grass, relaxing. It can look really crowded because they...

Talk to me about dessert viewing parties.... worth it?

"Worth it" is very subjective. Truthfully, there's no way anyone could eat enough desserts to make it anywhere near worth the price on that basis. But, in my book, what you are buying, as the PP mentioned, is the opportunity to have a prime, uncrowded viewing space for the firework, and you...

    Crowd Calendar Question

TP does explain what all their numbers mean, in great detail. I'm not sure if they specify exactly how they check their own predictions, but on each individual crowd calendar day, they will have a recap of how they did the previous day and how close reality came to their predictions. I'm not...

    Candlelight Processional

lorileahb, my apologies, you are probably correct. Somehow I didn't connect that this was about a CP dining package ADR. It isn't an issue with regular ADRs, but special dining package ADRs may very well be treated differently about how many show up. A call to Disney Dining would probably be...

    Candlelight Processional

Disney dining likes even numbers for parties - four rather than three, six rather than five, etc. If you got a table for six for a party of five, you don't need to change anything with Disney Dining. When you show up at the restaurant, just tell them that there will only be five. It won't be...

    Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS RESORT Information & Questions

I suspect that the comfort of mattresses is a very individual thing. I've slept on the murphy beds a couple times and found them to be fine for me - firm but not too hard. So I think it would be hard to determine in advance what other resort would have a mattress that is more comfortable for you.

Thanks so much for answering both questions.

Thanks. Not questioning your word, but is this from personal experience?

    Savi Workshop

What time of day do on line reservations open up for Savi's workshop? I've heard everything from midnight to 6 AM. A friend very much wants to do this and would like to know what time to be at his computer. Edited to add: Does the 60+10 apply to Savi's workshop, as it does to ADRs if staying...

Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

The new-ish Banana Cabana bar is outside, under cover but with two sides open. There's no bar inside Old Port Royale that I was aware of at my June visit.

Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

I was in Jamaica, building 41, I think, in June. I didn't time the walk to the Skyliner, but it was very short, probably five minutes or so. It was one of the closer buildings, so another building may take a couple minutes longer, but not much. It is so worth it to be close to the skyliner to...

Best Transportation for an Early Flight out of MCO?

Same here. 6 AM flight in June, picked up at Caribbean Beach at 2:45 by Mears, no problem.

Passholders now have to show app to get any discounts

I've been here since Monday and have used my annual pass many many times for purchases. Only once was I asked to show my AP status on the app. The rest of the time, I have just shown my AP Card to the cast member and they accept it without question.

Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

What is the current order of the bus stops? I haven't stayed at the Caribbean Beach since pre-COVID days. It seemed back then that most buses came in the back entrance and stopped at Jamaica first. Is this still the order of things?

    Dessert parties

I've only done the pre-party and watched from the Hub. The view from there is straight on to the castle, so you can see the projections and fireworks as they were intended to be seen. There are a few random light poles and short, skinny trees that will be in your sight line no matter where you...

    Taking Home Leftovers

I said this in another thread, but leftover food at Disney isn't "wasted." I asked the server at the Garden Grill what happens to the uneaten food, since there was so much we couldn't eat. He said that all the leftover food goes to a biofuel plant that produces energy to power some of the Disney...
