We usually have a day out at St Pete's Beach.......takes about 2 hours to get there. We have a car for the whole of our trip as we like to eat off site in an evening, go shopping etc.

I would say my bamboo socks last as well if not better than my old cotton ones.

We're 2 adults early 50's amd always stay at POP. No probs with noise and at least the buses don't share with any other resorts.

We usually go for opening (10:00am in September), stay until about 2:00, then spend the afternoon shopping somewhere like Mall at Milennia, then back to the parks for fireworks etc.

Merrell Sandals for me every time....to keep them fresh I scrub them with antibacterial handwash and an old toothbrush, then leave them to dry in the sun. (Make sure you rinse well though or you get foamy feet when it rains......don't ask me how I know that......)

Have you done Miami before? We stay at the Holiday Inn, Port of Miami. We taxi from the airport as it saves parking fees and 2 days car hire. The hotel is just across the road from Bayside so handy for eating on the first night. We then used buses to take us to Lincoln Road Mall and South Beach...
