Not an answer to your actual question but when we went to Grand cayman, we rented a van and hit the turtle farm (nice to see) and the beach on our own. We had 5 adults and a few kids, the excursions add up quickly!

I think some of the measuring posts actually add a slight bit of height to measure for shoes. We went when DD was just about 41" and she just made it on the 40" rides. Is this extra height on purpose for counting shoe height? I do not know, but I know when kids are borderline 40" they might...

In general for photography the best lighting is 2 hours around sun rise and 2 hours around sunset. Will you eb outside or in?
